  • Works, Easy and Allows More Choices for Sub Placement - Interference Fixed
Update April 2022: I've left my original review below to provide some perspective. One star was removed because my sub would never turn off. Discovered there was some subtle interference with my home network causing this issue which also made the sub make subtle thumping noises. The sub thought it was in use, because of the interference, which is why it would never shut off. Why? Essentially the WA-2 uses the 2.4 GHz band which is shared by many home devices. 2.4 GHz home network channels 1, 6 and 11 provide frequencies with no overlap with adjacent channels. I had networks using all 3. Turned them all off, listened to the sub and there was no longer any interference. Turned them on 1 by 1 and discovered my access point on channel 1 was causing the problem. Changed 2 of my furthest access points to be channel 11 and my central one to be channel 6. Now everything works without issue (since I no longer have any network using channel 1). Another option would be to test if your 2.4 GHz home network is causing the problem and convert it to 5.8 GHz instead. After I reconfigured my home network the sub powers down as expected and doesn't make any strange noises. Now added back a star for a 5 star review. Original review March 2022: Requirements - within 50ft of your receiver, have power, a "WA' port on the back of your sub. For the money this unit is great and allows more choices in sub placement. Just make sure your Klipsch sub has a "WA" port on the back. Installation is simple. Install receiving unit on your sub and plug into the "WA" port. The only power you'll need is the power to your sub. The receiving unit is provided power via the "WA" port. Then install transmitting unit on your receiver. I used both the L/R pre amp outputs on mine. A warning indicates you have to use L/R - I'm not sure if you could use LFE or not. This transmitting unit has a power adapter which must be plugged into house power. Then when both units are powered on the first time they should find each other automatically. Sound seems fine but I'm not a "reference" level listener. One complaint is the standby feature doesn't seem to work using this. The sub stays on all the time (even after 15-20 minutes - based on the LED on the sub) when there is no signal. Not sure if this is by design or not. I assume it's by design since the sub provides power to the receiving unit. It would be nice if the sub went into standby while only providing power to the receiving unit. Overall very happy and think it is worth it. ... show more

  • Good product, not a fan of WA-2 connection though
Pretty good solution to not having cables running around my living room for my subwoofer and price wasnt bad. Hook up was fairly straight forward but that WA connection on the sub can be a pain if you dont line up the pins correctly. If you dont, you run the risk of ruining the pins. Sound is good, time correction on my receiver helped with any lag in response. My one bugaboo with this thing is the sub connection. Yesterday I lost pairing on it and took me a few minutes to repair but I did have to pull the WA connection on the actual sub which I was hesitant to do as it can be a pain to reconnect. Other than that, great product and has worked really well. ... show more

  • Check your sub for compatibility. Great unit for me.
This was a super simple plug and play application. I plugged the transmitter into the sub out on my receiver and connected to the signal receiver to the back of my sub. I saw reviews that complained about humming from the sub. I upgraded my rca cables and still had some humming. I moved the transmitter a little farther away from my home theater receiver and the humming went away and hasn’t returned since. The only thing it does do though is our home theater receiver is on an outlet controlled by a light switch. Only when turning the light switch off to turn the system off it causes the subwoofer to thump one time. Not a big deal and not a big enough thump to damage the sub. Outside of that I have had no signal loss issues or experienced any noticeable delay in sound from the subwoofer. One thing to note though. This does not work with all Klipsch subs. Make sure your sub is equipped with the proper connection on the back. We have 3 Klipsch subs and the only one that has the proper connection is the one I purchased specifically for this wireless (still have to plug sub into an electrical outlet) ability. I am very very happy with it overall. ... show more

  • Fit for a Landfill
Question: Why is Klipsch still using ancient technology (2.4 GHz only) when 5G has been out for 6 years??? Answer: Because to redesign this system for today's technology would take a little bit of R&D, and that costs money. So, no, they would rather keep charging exorbitant prices for the old garbage they developed 10-15 years ago. I bought this wireless kit for an addition we were building last fall, knowing I was going to need a wireless solution for a subwoofer as part of the sound system. I've always trusted the Klipsch brand name, so I had no hesitation in making this purchase. Once the addition was completed (long after the return date, of course), I connected this up and started working with it. In a nutshell, it works sometimes. Then it loses connection - sometimes for days at a time. Knowing it was probably an issue with interference from other 2.4 GHz devices, I struggled with it for weeks trying everything to isolate it, and moving everything I could over to the 5G leg of my wireless network. In the end nothing worked. I was so frustrated! I ended up buying a Dynasty Proaudio WSA-5TR-V2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit that operates on 5.2G for half the price of the Klipsch unit here on Amazon, and Voilà! Beautiful bass added to my sound system. The Klipsch wireless kit I purchased is now in a landfill, where it belongs! ... show more

  • Extremely disappointing
I have a consistent “pulse” occurring every 3-7 seconds. Like other reviews, I was able to trace it down to 2.4gHz WiFi. Unfortunately, I cannot keep my 2.4gHz disabled, as a lot of my smart devices do not work on 5g. It sounds as good as a wired connection, it just ruins it by having a pulsing sound going whether or not something is playing. It’s especially noticeable in quiet scenes where there is no bass. Edit (2/26) - I fixed the issue by using a shorter cable. Guess there was something being induced onto the line. That being said, I now have noticed that I have no volume control over the sub from my receiver. I can turn the sub all the way up or down and it makes no difference. The only thing that changes the volume is the switch on the box and the gain on the sub itself. ... show more

  • So you bought this and don’t have a WA plug. Read on.. So you bought this and don’t have a WA plug. Read on..
So if your like me and bought this adapter for your sub and conveniently don’t have a WA plug on your sub. Simple- cut the plug off or if your good at soldering here goes: White wire - wire to rca center pin Black wire bundled with white - rca outside (shield) Red - +5v power adapter ( must purchase separately or use one you have laying around Black wire bundled with red - (-) negative power supply Works perfect. About the power block needed- I used a 5v 1000ma adapter and the unit works great. ... show more
