  • For a bluetooth speaker- best one for the money. Vynl
Color: Matte Black
You need to adjust your expectations. This is a bluetooth speaker. My ears are used to a pair of Klipsch Heresy I speakers connected to a vintage 30 watt all tube amp. This is NOT that lol but it is something for a blue tooth speaker. If you like real Klipsch horn speakers, this won't sound familiar. No horns here. If you are getting into better sounding equipment or want to check out vinyl, this is a great solution. Pros -Problem solver- This is my music streamer in the office, spin some vinyl on it and serves as our TV speaker. I can even increase the volume from other rooms with the remote. Very easy and simple. -Build quality is great. I like my gear made well. For something new and the price, this is well made. Grill material is a thick heavy weave. The wood top/bottom is nice. The knobs are spun alum, stepped turns and the on/off has a nice click on/off -Connections- Wifi is easy to connect, aux jack works great for the TV, phono connection is nice. -Size/weight- This is not big, pleased with the size. Would have been dissatisfied with anything less (the one). Weight is solid. Good thing for audio. -Sound- Its good. I am used to a full sounding, horned klipsch speakers. This is not that, but for a bluetooth, it sounds good. -VINYL- Not enough reviews mentioning the phono stage. It is the BEST feature. I was skeptical streaming music/jazz radio. When I hooked up my little Dual with a vintage cartridge...WOW not audiophile grade but it is a ton of fun...what vinyl should be. Get an old mono Stones album like 12x5 and crank it. Cons- Boomy-Sound is a little boomy at times, an eq would help but it is not that big of a deal. I think the boomy sound helps with the vinyl though. Made in China- Just be aware. I get it, it is not 1965 anymore, but be aware of this fact. Overall, it looks great, sounds great, connects to just about everything and is fun. It is something I am happy to have in my house and find myself admiring and look forward to listen too. That is a good thing for quality audio, it looks good and you look forward to turning it on and cranking it. It is not going to take you to the place where a high quality vintage Klipsch horn speaker will, but it is still fun and the best sounding, connecting and looking bluetooth speaker on the market. ... show more

  • Great sound from a small box
Color: Matte Black
This box replaced an older model Bose. Bose was good. This box sounds better than Bose in our opinion. I kept trying to find a good CD player. In the players, the cheap Chinese plastic stank. I got fed up and bought a pre-owned Kenwood CD player 1992 model. After lubricating it and cleaning the head, I have a top quality player. Amazing! What sound can be got out of the same CDs, with player made for quality at the time that CD players were in a race to the top! Then this Klipsch is able to REPRODUCE what this great CD player presents into it. Tiny sounds, small bells, deep base. Wonderful! ... show more

  • Beautiful with good sound (for what it is)
Color: Walnut
If you're looking at The Three, you're probably intrigued by the looks and our experience so far is that the sound quality is right in line with most quality mono speakers. First off, it looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. 5/5 for design and build quality, it looks fantastic in our modern home. If you are shopping for looks, rest assured that the sound is good and you can stop reading right here. Getting a bit more involved: This is a basic Bluetooth connection setup with the pluses and minuses associated with such. Flip the switch "on" and it's pretty much ready to go. Only weird thing is that the sound knob works independently of your source volume, kind of old-school. So you can make adjustments to volume on your phone but I find there's a balance you need to find so there's not any background hiss from turning up either the source or the speaker too much. For sound quality, while it sounds quite good in a bedroom or small space, the mids are a bit weak and washed out so it's not going to fill a big space without getting boomy. But that's true of virtually every small/midsized mono-speaker so I can't fault it too much. Bass is a bit heavy even tuned with an iphone EQ, also typical of this type of speaker. Overall, it sounds about the same as most $200 speakers but you pay a premium for the design and build quality. For comparison, let me first say that there's no substitute for stereo pairs. The Three fills a room pretty well but isn't going to create a wide soundstage like a stereo pair of speakers does. We have a pair of Sonos 1's in our kitchen and individually The Three sounds better but against a stereo pair it can't compete. For us, this is the perfect speaker for our bedroom and we will leave the "heavy lifting" for our HiFi system, hidden stereo needs for the Sonos and appreciate The Three for what it is: a beautiful and compact speaker that sounds really good. ... show more

  • Awesome sound
Color: Matte Black
This unit has spectacular retro design and the sounds is great. Impressed with the fullness of the sound at all volumes. It even has solid bass. We use it in an 25x 12 living room and it is the perfect set up. The retro styling compliments the environment. This unit replaced a Sonos 5 Gen 1. I would put them head to head any day. ... show more
