This is a versatile flashlight that can really pump out the lumens for times when you need to see far at night. As you can see in my three pictures, all taken out my window at night, the low setting is good for things only a few feet away; like your feet when you're walking to the camp bathrooms. In my picture, you can see the birdfeeder, but can't see that there even is a trampoline out there. The medium is stronger; maybe you're the only one with a flashlight and you're lighting the path for all of you. You can kind of see the trampoline, but not well. The high is good if you wonder what is that sound at the other end of your yard at night, and want to be able to see if it's a prowler or a racoon. In my picture, you can see not only the trampoline, but also some of the trees around it. The battery life is directly dependent on how intense you customarily make the beam of light. It is easy to switch the brightness with a little lever right by the power switch. I love that the light is USB powered; that helps a lot. It's a pretty small flashlight, so don't expect the battery life to be AMAZING, but it lasts for a few hours. If you're going to be using it extensively, you're going to need to recharge it. ... show more

    • Best feature, one button for bright light, and a separate button to cycle through modes
I absolutely have flashlights where the first push is bright, the second is brighter, the third is brightest, and the 4th is strobe. This flashlight has those features, but there is a separate button to cycle through them. Fist push brightest on, second push off. Perfect. Easy to charge. Lightweight. BRIGHT! ... show more

    • Don't buy Klarus Products!!!
I purchased a Klarus XT11X flashlight a few years ago. The light was bright and appeared to be well-made. I had it as an emergency light, so it wasn't over-used. I noticed it began to malfunction, when turned on it would almost immediately go out of "high" mode and would shut-off within seconds. I replaced the battery, but it still did the same thing. Come to find out this was a common and well-documented problem with Klarus lights. When I contacted Customer Service they told me the light needed to be replaced and they offered me a $20 off my next purchase because my light was 3-years old.
