Given as a gift. I got positive feedback from a middle schooler! I bought this because kiwi box has some quality control compared to other similar products. Other products had longer wire and more colors to choose from but reviews indicated that the ey sent out an electronic whine which would have been disappointing.

We've come to expect a high level of polish from Kiwico items. Usually, the quality is reflected in the price point. Nothing ever seems outrageous or out of line, but this kit for some reason, seems to be priced at a point that makes the cost to value ratio a little more appealing than a lot of the Kiwico kits. Focusing on the set itself, as with other Kiwico sets, it's packaged beautifully and extremely securely. It would be a really nice gift to give - or receive. The instructions are detailed, clear, and well illustrated. The materials included are of excellent quality. Following the instructions, everything comes together nicely. It does require some patience and coordination, so it's certainly something for older kids or something to do with little kids that are patient and can rely on adult help. The end product is awesome and well loved!

We've already done Kiwi projects before and they've all been great. My child loves both art and science but has never wanted to use Snap Circuits or anything like that the way my other kids have. I was trying to somehow convince her to try doing a project using electricity and this was the perfect one! The instructions were very clear. She has experience with kids STEM kits and was able to do the whole thing on her own. There are enough supplies to play around with it but you can also easily expand the set because it has clear information about each part. This is a project that has continued to be of interest.

We've been big fans of KiwiCo for a long, long time...we've had most of the subscription boxes starting when they only had one available option! They now have an amazing array of everything up to high-school age projects for kids with STEM and Art projects galore! This is one of their "nearly everyone above age 5" kits...no "wiring", just art-proejct based fun using the EL-wire (can't shock you!) to create words and shapes against the black background provided or make your own with home art crafting supplies! It includes 1 Green EL wire and battery pack and 1 Blue EL wire and battery pack (batteries included), simple instructions, all the supplies you'll need and expanded craft instructions included as well (to build a secondary project)! These are great for young kids up through adult and can be used with other toys after the project "gets old"...we have pieces of previous KiwiCo "crates" in almost every corner of the house, even if it looks nothing like the original project now!
