This is a truly ergonomic set of kitchen shears. I have big hands and the shears I had before would painfully pinch me in the palm of my hand because the loops came together too far back- and this is true for many brands. KitchenAid very smartly had the closure happen further forward and made the loops bigger, so it is easier for big hands people (which is many of us men) to use them- but also made the loops nonslip and softer as well. The penalty they paid for this is to make the blades broader meaning that it takes more steel- but this also makes them sturdier and more durable. This is a far better design than even many shears which cost twice as much or more. The blades are plenty sharp as well, so you are not getting shortchanged in the performance area. KitchenAid wisely spent the extra money on extra steel to produce a product which works well and is safer to use. Using these shears have made me a fan of KitchenAid.

Really nice set of kitchen shears. The handles are nicely padded with a resilient, durable vinyl-like surface that doesn't hurt to squeeze on, and that offers a solid, secure grip. The steel frame of the shears runs all the way through the handles, too; it's not one of those situations where the metal ends where the handles begin, and you have to hope it'll last. On top of that, these shears are not "handed": As a left-hander, I appreciate it a lot when I'm not forced to contort my thumb into some kind of "ergonomic" grip just to cut something. The blades are strong and nicely sharp, and the whole thing cleans up very readily. Yes, you'll pay a bit more for these than you might with other kitchen shears, but this is the first time I've bought a set and ended up feeling like I won't be replacing them within three to five years, as was the case with the last two pairs I've owned (other brands, largely plastic).

I’m really impressed with how well they cut—super sharp, sturdy, and comfortable to use. They handle kitchen tasks with ease, but I especially love using them to break down the never-ending pile of Amazon boxes. They glide right through cardboard like butter! These KitchenAid Kitchen Shears have become a really handy tool around the house. They are very sharp, making cutting tasks in the kitchen and beyond much easier. I also appreciate that they come with a nice plastic safety cover for storage, which is a thoughtful touch. The shears feel sturdy and well-made, and they've worked perfectly for any household project I've needed them for – from opening packages to snipping herbs.
