I use kitchen scissors basically every day. For some reason, I often misplace them or I find that I don't have any clean ones left, so I decided to get more to help with that problem. While cooking, we usually have one for meat and the other for fruits and vegetables, so it's nice that I don't have to rinse them out every time I want to use them for something else. This set has quickly become my favorite to use as they are very sharp and the size works for both my and my partner's hands (I have small hands, he has large hands, yet these work well for both of us). I've never used the curved one before, but my partner said that it was perfect for cutting up lobster and crab. He said that our regular kitchen scissors were not easy to use for cutting up the shells, so we're excited to use it in the future. The other two scissors are just regular scissors but they're very sharp and each comes with a sheath. They are identical except for a slight color difference in the handles. We haven't used them for opening bottles or cracking nuts, but we have no doubt that they would work well for those. The material feels very sturdy and made cutting things super easy and smooth. Cutting meat and broccoli stems were a breeze. I really recommend these kitchen scissors. They're sharp, strong, and multifunctional. Additionally, they're only $10 and you get three of them. This is a great deal and a great product.

Let me just start with what these are not: they are not expensive spring-reinforced thirty-dollar poultry shears. They are a very handy set of three sharp, stainless steel, heavy-duty utility scissors that are excellent in the kitchen and also around the house—for under ten dollars. I am pretty good with chef’s and vegetable knives but there are some things that are easier with scissors, like chicken, some vegetables like broccoli and celery, and, basically, cutting things into little pieces. But do it carefully, these are sharp. You get two identically sized larger shears—both with plastic sheaths to protect the blade and rubberized handles so they’re easy to use. One scissor has red striping, one has black. The third is good for deveining and unshelling shrimp and working with other seafood. The larger shears also conveniently have nutcracker and bottle-opener features. But, gosh, are these good for other things. I often struggle to open hard plastic packaging and even some softer plastic bags and packaging, and these make that easy—they cut right through! They slice through zip ties and I’m sure hundreds of things that I haven’t thought of yet. These are dishwasher safe and come with a lifetime warranty. So, really, what you’re getting are three very useful, versatile pairs of heavy-duty scissors for a great price.

All I can say is why didn’t I get these sooner. This makes it so easy to cut raw chicken or cooked chicken. So much easier than cutting with a knife. I have used these to cut shell fish and even sun dried tomatoes. This has cut down my prep time in half. So happy I found these and wish I had them years ago.

Heavy duty shears can be used for many purposes. They are sharp and have tight pivots so there is little yo no play between blades. My only complaint is with the curved seafood shears. They would have been better if the handles were like the others and bi-directional. Their own photo show them being used upside down as the fingers are jammed in the thumb hole while the thumb is in the fingers side. It would have been a better set if those curved shears could be used in either direction comfortably.

My life has become so much easier just having these scissors in my kitchen! Those notoriously difficult to cut through plastic packages that house everything from USB plugs to power strips no longer faze me. What I now refer to affectionately as "Skinny Curl" cuts right through those annoying packages! Cut through the entire package of sealed bacon too. Now I just have to wash one thing, instead of two. Immensely pleased!
