I guess there's not much to say about an algae scraper, but this thing is solid. it weighs about two lbs. solid metal pieces, screws together firmly, works as advertised. fits the standard old style single blade razors so no hassle finding replacements. oh, and it removes algae and hard water residue. can't go wrong here.

The scraper is a simple item that does what I needed. But thanks to Amazon, I paid for two! They told me the first order didn’t go through so I needed to basically cancel and reorder. I did just that only to find out that they somehow charged me twice knowing I didn’t order two of the same items! Not happy. Thank goodness it is less than $10 and not hundreds of dollars.

This item might work for very light easily removed algae. But for the tough stuff, it just doesn’t hold up. The blades and fairly thin and flimsy. The handle is sturdy but the handle isn’t what I need for cleaning… I am probably returning and spending more on a nice thick blade one…

The thing I like the most about this is the length. Im able to reach the bottom of the tank without my hands even touching the water. First pic is across my 55 gallon tank. Second pic I scrapped the left side & it is noticeably cleaner than the right.

Before I got into aquariums and browsing the aquarium stores, looking at the multitude of tools from chinese brands, to well known and heavily vetted companies, I saw a lot of rubbish. I saw a lot of tools that over-complicated a simple task, making the hobby not only more confusing, but again; just too complicated and time consuming. I saw this pop up on vine and I was like, wow. Simple. Easy. No brainer. Finally, I found an algae scraper worth having in my tool drawer for the aquariums. Nothing beats a DE razor blade in terms of sharpness, versatility and best of all, cost. I have over 1000 DE-Rs sitting around from my young adulthood of using DE razors. This was a no brainer. Swapping blades is simple with 2 fasteners. Optional length bar. Cleaning and drying the tool is a quick swipe. It's metal, and will outlive me. I could go on. I've seen similar simple razor style scrapers in the past, but I was not going to fork out the cash that was asked for them. Made no sense. A razor on a stick for over $10? Nah. This is the one.
