This is a simple, economical, noninvasive yet effective way for me to check on my sister. She lives with and is the caretaker of her adult son, who is completely disabled, and if something were to happen to her, he is not able to get help. This is a way to watch out for both of them. The Kini is hanging on her refrigerator door, so when she opens it, I get a text message and know that she is moving about the house. I have been using the "Stasis" mode for the Kini lately, which means I will only receive a notification/text if she has NOT opened the refrigerator for a set number of hours. This eliminates receiving too many texts. The packaging was extremely good - each part was clearly marked - and the setup was pretty simple. Customer service is outstanding. I was having an issue and through chat on the Kini website one of the owners figured out the problem and told me how to correct it.

I was skeptical at first after seeing some of the negative reviews, but after using Kini for a couple of months, I can confidently say it does exactly what it promises. This is NOT a camera, and it’s not meant to be—it’s a motion sensor that alerts you the moment something moves. For my needs, that’s perfect. I don’t want a camera constantly recording or needing cloud storage; I just want an instant notification if something I care about has been accessed. Addressing Concerns: “Crappy?" No way. It’s compact, discreet, and built for function. It’s not a heavy metal device, but it doesn’t need to be. "Too many false positives"? Not in my experience. Sensitivity settings require some tweaking (like any motion sensor), but once dialed in, it’s very reliable. If you expect it to behave like a camera, you might misunderstand how it works. "No support"? That’s simply not true. The company has been incredibly responsive, answering questions, even on the weekend! Final Verdict: If you need instant alerts without the hassle of cameras, apps, or subscriptions, Kini is a solid choice. It’s affordable, effective, and fills a gap that other security products don’t.

Loved my first Kini so much I bought 3 more from Kinisium directly! I’m an avid firearm, user/collector, so I have several places to protect; my main safe, my ammo safe, my beside safe, etc. While I have a robust security posture to ensure that once my daughter is able to walk and talk, she won’t be able to access my firearms. My main safe has two different factors of security as it is! My point is, I wanted something more, something for the what-if! That’s where the Kini motion sensors come in. From the initial setup, to installation, and day to day operation, the sensor and process is superior quality. The process to set up the device is well documented and simple. The sensor is accurate, reliable, and I don’t have to worry about not getting an alert. I have had no false positives whatsoever! Any time I go into my safe I get the alert as soon as the door opens! I work in cyber security by day, so I’m definitely a bit paranoid when it comes to digital and physical security, and this product puts my mind at ease knowing if someone, somehow accessed my safe, I would know! Already recommended to some friends and would absolutely recommend for you!

Product works as described but I have dropped signal multiple times. I believe it’s my WiFi and not product though. Battery lasts for weeks at a time. And signal sends through safe function as needed.

What it is: Yes, this sensor will detect motion and will issue an instantaneous alert via text message. In that aspect, it is highly reliable. What it is NOT: This device is NOT designed to trigger on any activities that do not physically move the sensor itself. In other words, having it attached to the back wall of a shed and hoping to get alerted if someone opens the door to the shed without moving the sensor will leave you disappointed. It is not an IR sensor that will detect someone walking in front of it like motion detectors in home security systems will. One other important note - it is possible to not trigger an alarm even with the device moving. I have it attached to a door that if opened without an abrupt start or stop, the alarm will not trigger. My advice: IF you understand the limitations of the device due to how it functions, you will enjoy it.

Smart device, helpful but not the most sensitive. The app versus online was a bit of a nuance to setup. Best to do it through the online portal then download the app. The device itself is pretty small (good thing) and simple to charge and sync up. However, the navigation to adjust sensitivity, notifications and all become frustrating. It detects motion, y, x, and z axis so a plus. However, it does take “movement” to set off. If one moved ever so slightly and slowly, you can bypass the notifications. I have it stuck against the back of a door and if I slowly open the door, it didn’t set off the alert or consider that as motion. One would really need to swing the door open or in this case move the actual device for it to register movement.
