  • Great little system with so many game
This little system is amazing and comes packed with classic games. The controllers are responsive and the game play and menus are easy to navigate. I do wish there was a little guide with it to tell you which buttons corresponded to which for each system, but if you play around with it for a while you can figure out the controls, just like in the old days. Seriously there are more games on here than you will ever be able to play in your lifetime. There are some really solid ones, and then there are a few duds, but all and all this is a great value for a retro gamer or someone who wants to dip their foot into 20 to 40 year old games. ... show more

  • Love this little box
The Super Console X2 is a great little box, as others have said, lots of games, but lots of duplicates or versions of the same game. Loads of emulators, more than I knew existed, and AndroidTV, which I don't use, but is nice to have. The controllers work fine, and the bluetooth dongle is in the battery compartment. The system takes 1 min 40 seconds to boot, which doesn't sound like a lot of time, until you're sitting waiting for it. There are a few things that kept it from being a 5 star gaming console. It feels like there are a few afterthoughts, or lack of design and planning in the early stages. There is no card slot, so they included a USB card reader, and the SD card. There are 2 USB ports on the box, but because of the USB card reader, you need 3 ports, so they added a 4 port USB hub. It seems the on board USB ports don't have enough power for a wired xbox controller, although I need to test with a powered hub. It recognizes the controller, but it doesn't work. It will take years for me to get to all of the games that were included, (licensing is questionable at best), and it is possible to download more, (again on the licensing). All in all, I really enjoy it, it comes with everything you need to plug it into your monitor or TV and get started. I didn't try the networking, either wifi or wired. ... show more

  • Very easy way to play classic video games
I have zero experience with emulators, so I was a little apprehensive about using this device. I needn't have worried; it's basically just plug and play. When I first turned it on, it sat on a Kinhank splash screen so long, that I thought it was broken. But then I noticed some text updating in the upper left-hand corner and waited it out. Presumably, it was running through some kind of one-time setup routine because subsequent boots were much faster. At first, there were some random hiccups and stutters, but these seemed to stop after a bit, so I guess the system was still getting itself sorted out in the background. After a few minutes of getting used to the interface, I was easily searching through and starting up games to play. The trickiest part of this was that the various emulators seem to have different ways to exit out of them but random button mashing always got me back to the main menu eventually. I came across some games that wouldn't play due to missing files but there are so many games, I am not going to miss a few. And, if there is one that I just have to have, there are some instructions on how to find missing ROMs. I also found a few games that wouldn't respond to controller input. There are ways to reprogram controller settings though, so presumably these would also work with a little bit of tweaking. Again, there are so many games, I just moved on to something else. The main unit feels solid. I was a little surprised that it didn't have a built-in card reader, but it comes with a USB adapter, so this isn't a big deal. It also has a four port USB hub to allow connecting multiple USB controller dongles. The included controllers are okay, they work fine but I imagine that many people will want to upgrade those at some point. The system also has an Android desktop mode that can be set up as a media center, but I did not try this. I doubt there is an easier way to get started with classic game emulators. It works right out of the box, has everything that you need and most of the configuration is already done and hidden behind the interface. I definitely recommend this box if you're looking for an easy to use classic video game emulator with a ton of games. ... show more

  • Good concept but poor execution
This would be amazing, maybe i have a defective unit, but it will load in then after a minute or two as you are looking at the different games it freezes and crashes.. i have tried everything to get it to work correctly... such a shame as i was looking forward to some childhood games.

  • All the retro classics on playable on a modern TV
This console is pretty amazing, it's got basically every game from deep history to about PSP/Dreamcast... I suspect PS2 would've pushed it's little android brain to the breaking point. It doesn’t have every game and has plenty of dupes but it is possible to add to the library on the SD card if there is a burning desire for something not preloaded. I looked up a list of notoriously tough-to-emulate games to benchmark it, and everything that it came with it could run without issue. It also came with everything you need: the console itself and a power adapter, a SD card and adapter with all the games (and there are SO MANY games), and 2 USB Dualshock-style controllers, they are solid and likely similar to what the controllers were back in the PS1 days, they don’t feel like an Xbox Elite controller, but I don’t think old games should be played with one anyways. Given how compact the device is, there weren't enough USB ports, so they included a little splitter as well so everything can fit and run nicely! Basically it has everything I needed except a TV: I hooked it all up and we were off to the races! I tried plugging my Qanba Drone Arcade Stick into one of the remaining USB slots and it immediately recognized it, brought up a screen to configure the buttons, and away we go again. Can't recommend this enough for a little do-it-all emulation station for your living room, great for what it is! ... show more
