This set is gorgeous. The matte black with that hammered texture is bold in a way you don’t usually see with dinnerware. It leans more into design than function at first glance, like something you’d expect to see styled on a table, but not actually used every day. The black really stands on its own, but it also pairs beautifully with the white if you already have it. Mixing the two creates a high-contrast look that feels more than a little dramatic without coming off as pretentious. I’ve been alternating pieces just to see how it comes together, and it definitely changes the whole vibe of the table. The texture isn’t just for looks. You can FEEL it. It has that slightly rough, uneven surface that gives it a more handcrafted vibe, but it’s something to keep in mind. If you or anyone in your household is sensitive to textures, this could be hit or miss. The pieces themselves are well proportioned. The bowls have enough depth for grain bowls or a healthy serving of pasta. They strike a good balance between presentation and usability. This would make a really beautiful wedding gift, especially for someone who doesn’t want the typical glossy white set. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but it feels like something you choose for someone very, very special. If you’re going for something that stands out, this does it. They arrived in pristine condition. They were very well packaged. Every single item was wrapped and boxed separately. The result is an item that gets absolutely no damage from delivery, unless something major happens to the main box. The actual product is beautiful. It is a matte black. There is quite a bit of texture. I was worried they would not clean well, but in my dishwasher they do fine. We never hand wash, so I cannot say how they would work for hand washers, I think I would look for a smoother finish. They are heavy and feel like high quality stoneware. My only issue, the large plate does not fit well in any part of my Bosch dishwasher. It fits, but it is really pushing on the prongs. We may wind up just using the smaller plates and bowls. Since we do not love hand washing, we likely will not frequently use the large plates. They are just a little too deep. The unfortunate thing is, I love the deep mess for holding lots of different foods. If this would be light and deep, you would have the perfect plates for kids! I still give them 5 stars, because they are really nice and it is probably fine with a different brand of dishwasher.

This set of dinnerware looks really nice and arrived in perfect condition. The hammered design can be found across the surface of the plates and the outer portion for the bowls. The one thing I was not expecting was the rough texture that these have. It does not have the usual glaze smooth finish like most ceramic plates that I’ve used. I feel this adds the the unique beauty of it but it might catch some people off guard if they were expecting a smooth surface. Although rough, these rinse clean and can go in the dishwasher. These looks really nice and have good weight to them. If you want something that’s more of a natural stone feel, you will be happy with this set.

These plates are by far the most exquisite dining wear that I have ever owned. The look and design of these plates has me completely blown away. They are sharp, rich in detail and feel absolutely incredible when held or passed. We use these as a daily set but will be purchasing more for holiday dinners when family come because they are sturdy, and I am completely in love with them. They are dishwasher safe, but I do not put them in there, so I cannot speak on how well they maintain their look post dishwash. However, they clean nicely by sink. I love the raised edge on the plate is ideal for dinners with juices or gravy. The bowls are smooth on the inside, which I was hoping for when I purchased. They are matte black which adds to a bold kitchen feel and almost look cast iron. They hold up to many meals, and I couldn't be happier with their performance. Would make for a fabulous wedding gift too!

The size of the plates is great, and the overall shape is fine, especially the slightly deeper edges that help keep food contained. At first glance, it feels like a high-end set that would elevate any table. However, the finish is where it falls short. The texture doesn’t just have a subtle matte or handcrafted feel, it comes across more like an unfinished surface. It’s noticeably rough on both sides, which takes away from the overall experience when holding or using the dishes. Instead of feeling refined, it feels a bit raw and incomplete. That roughness also affects functionality. When eating, it’s harder than expected to scoop up food cleanly with a fork or spoon. Things don’t glide easily across the surface, which becomes frustrating during meals. It’s a small detail, but one that makes a big difference in everyday use. Another concern is how the finish will hold up over time. With the white dishes, there’s always a worry about staining, and with this more porous-feeling texture, it’s unclear how well they’ll stay looking clean after repeated use with sauces or darker foods. To be fair, the set itself is sturdy, well-packaged, and visually very appealing. It has all the elements of a beautiful, modern dinnerware set.
