I have A Lot of chargers but these are definitely the best ones! The gold is of course beautiful but its the print and texture that brings the character I wanted! Great value

    • Initial Manufacturing Flaws; Additional Issues With Use - Not Sure How Well They'll Hold Up
My old plastic gold colored charger plates had seen better days. At age 25 years, many had cracked and/or broken, thus inspiring me to acquire replacements. I struggled to find something plain but sturdy, to no avail. Although subtly patterned, I finally decided on the low-key design of these KINGROL charger plates. They came in a 6-pack, thus I decided to purchase 3 packs (18 plates) to allow for some degradation as they aged. The chargers arrived in a simple small cardboard box. The grouped plates within a bubble wrap bag, each plate separated by a very thin foam divider sheet. When I inspected each plate, I was dismayed at some of the inconsistencies in finish, especially the small black marks noted on the facing of several plates. While not an expensive product, I WAS BUYING 3 SETS, so for me, this was an investment. I decided to return a portion of my purchase and reorder. When the new ones arrived, my scrutinizing eye discovered some of the same issues, although not as many as before. I chose the 13" gold "alligator" type finished charger plates to enhance my inherited china pattern and help protect my table. While not my ideal charger plate decor choice, it seemed the least overdesigned offering, coordinated fairly well, and the aesthetic blended well and was useful overall. However, while cleaning up after dinner, I did notice a few chargers with additional marks from minimal usage, including one quarter sized dark discoloration mark (something interacted/stained it?). So, now I've become a little concerned as to just how well these chargers will withstand occasional, gentle use. Guess they just don't make things like they used to. UPDATE JANUARY 2026 AFTER 2nd USE: One of the chargers broke in half while I was handling/moving it (without anything at all on the plate- thank goodness). Upon closer examination, It apparently had a line demarcation visible on the reverse (black side) suggesting where the product had likely been seamed, thus making a vulnerable weak spot. These chargers are much more fragile than those of similar composition that I purchased 25 years ago. Considering I purchased 3 sets of 6 chargers ($75 total), these were certainly a waste of momma's cache of "mad money" hidden away for special splurges. Review downgraded to 2 STARS. ... show more
