I tried the Kindle with no cover for a while, and that was fine, but I felt I had to baby it a bit so as not to scratch the screen. And the soft-touch plastic on the back picks up oddly persistent fingerprints. Then I found this cover, and it really does the trick for me. I like the fact that it's leather - it's a bit hard to the touch now but I expect it to soften up over time. It smells like leather, but it doesn't feel anything like leather. If there is any, it's a thinner-than-deli-meat bit glued over the rest of the plastic construction. It's not the end of the world, but it's a bit disappointing that I could probably create the same thing with some leather-scented automotive detail spray on any other plastic case. But it works. It triggers the sleep and wake functions as it should when opened and closed. It's light weight, so you're not holding much more than the Kindle itself. I like the color. Nice cover, I don’t feel like I’m breaking the edge of it when I fold it back to the backside of the kindle. It even is kept in place with what I could assume would be a magnet in the cover.

The Kendall leather cover is excellently made. I love how when you fold it. It magnetically sticks to the back. It is made very durable. It is perfect for the Kindle reader. I highly recommend this product! It is well worth the money. I am glad I did not purchase a different cover.

My Kindle cover does not scuff, remaining pristine despite vacation handling. It is easy to hold, manages the sleep mode easily, and adds little weight to the device itself. It is beautiful. Sometimes the black cover does cause it to blend in with my surroundings. It would be nice if it came in a bold color that would make it easier to locate. I recently got my first kindle and had the hardest time deciding on a cover. I didn’t want to cover the beautiful agave green color I chose so I decided to get the matching leather cover despite the mixed reviews and the high price tag. I figured if it didn’t work, I’d just send it back and settle on something else. The fabric option didn’t seem very durable so I opted for leather. A quality product is most important to me, and I don’t want to have to replace things like this so hopefully I won’t have to. Straight out of the box, it’s color matches perfectly to the kindle, which I appreciate. It feels like decent quality and should hopefully hold up to daily wear. I do wish it had some of the qualities I’ve seen in older leather cases offered in previous models (softer, more plush leather with the stitching and metal magnet clasp, which would fit the bill a little better). I also wish the front cover didn’t have the lip because its a bit thin and feels like it’d be vulnerable to damage in a purse. The top and bottom could also be protected/covered more; I’m not sure of the purpose of these areas being so open. The magnetic close is very strong and the wake/sleep feature works flawlessly. When opened, the cover stays in place with a magnetic hold too. I’ll update later if anything changes, but I do hope Amazon/kindle listens and brings back the nicer features of the previous leather cases. 🤞 ... show more
