I had a similar riding horse when I was a child and was excited to give this to my nephews as one of their birthday gifts. I bought this with my younger nephew in mind since he likes to pretend he's a farmer, but knew my older nephew would like it also. My nephew turning 3 loved feeding the horse the carrot and combing its mane, but was afraid to ride it. My nephew turning 6 loved riding it and weighs the same as his younger brother. I think they'll enjoy it for years, but it will take some time for the 3-year-old to ride it. To try and show him it wasn't scary, I rode it myself (with my feet on the ground) and weigh 120 pounds, so it's definitely very sturdy! My nephews named him Chocolate since they didn't like the name Chestnut and liked him enough that they wanted to feed him at each meal. It took an hour to assemble, but was worth it. The sound switch is under the horse's chin and has a loud, very loud and off option. There's a different horse sound for walking, trotting, galloping, eating, and a few others. It's motion-activated so you can leave it on and it takes AA batteries. It would've needed a lot of wrapping paper so I just put a blanket over it instead of gift wrap. It's easy to move once assembled and can fit through doorways and in the back of a car to be transported from Grandma and Grandpa's to their house. Kids 2-6 will love it! It's much better than the ones from the 90s and a lot safer than a pony-cycle. ... show more

A challenge to put together as it comes in so many pieces but it's so nice. Our two year old grandson loves it. Definitely way nicer than our sons rocking horse he had 23 years ago. The sounds it makes really makes it more fun to ride.

    • It is a lot of fun, but don't count on the battery for sounds to work.

This is a very cute rocking horse. My almost 3--year-old grandson loves it. He talks to it and combs its hair. I only gave it four stars because the battery does not work and exchanging it from Hawaii and waiting in line at the post office is very time consuming.

This is a beautiful horse that well made, sturdy and very safe for the grandkids. They absolutely love it. But the assembly instructions are horrible. In black and white so extreme difficult to tell what some parts are, where they go and so on. We thought we had put it together several times only to find pieces that we hadn’t used yet…so we had to disassemble and start again. But once we used all the pieces in the correct locations, horse was incredible. Kids love riding, but definitely not enough room for a 4 year old and a 2 year old to ride at the same time. Would definitely buy again! Has all the safety features you could ask for and then some. Nice job Radio Flyer…just work on improving the instructions. ... show more

Purchased this jumping horse for our 3 grandkids to have at their home, which they love. We purchased one for our daughter 37 years ago that she enjoyed and kept stored in our garage rafters over the years for just this purpose (grandchildren). They started playing on our old one each at the age of two so we knew this would be a perfect gift for their home. Of course, the sound affects on our old horse failed long ago so the various sounds from their new horse are lots of fun for them. The yarn hair is an add on from older version and add something to authenticity. It is a 2 person job to put together but my husband and I did easily together. Directions were perfect but needed to use a drill to enlarge holes for attaching head with long screws. Otherwise, about a 45 minute assembly time. Hours of kid fun with this product and can last for a very long time! ... show more
