We got this net for my 5 year old, who is obsessed with catching anything right now. Fish, bugs, butterflies, squirrels, you name it. He's been asking for a new net for this spring because he wore out the old one. The only ones we could find in the store we're plastic or really cheap feeling. They did not feel like they would be sturdy or strong enough to catch anything other than a butterfly. When we saw this net it was exactly what he wanted. I was very impressed when it came with the quality and durability. It is lightweight yet feels strong enough to catch a large fish, and sturdy enough to hold up to a 5 year old boy with endless energy, Who wants to catch anything he sees. I love this net and so does my son! He was overjoyed when he opened he package and takes it with him everywhere. He just holds it and always has it with him ready to catch stuff. We dragged these things all over the beach at night hunting sand crabs. We were not easy with them at all, but they held up great. Worth our money. Would buy again, would recommend to a friend. They are telescopic as well.

We ordered three of these so each of our children could have one and they held up great. The handle on one of them will not fully lock but that is not a huge deal as it stays in place when collapsed. Overall, the construction is good and what I expected based on the other reviews. I was able to get in the sand and scoop/filter out stuff while diving for shells. If you push too hard, it will bend the basket part but since it is aluminum, it can easily be bent back. My kids loved these and we are glad we didn't have to toss them after one trip. ... show more

Picked two up for my kids to catch minnows at the beach. They are really nice looking and they worked great for at least two times. The holes are a bit big for small minnows as they can get through before the kids have their hands on them. It’s a fun net to have but the handle needs improvement. The extension just would not lock in place and became loose making the next worthless. Amazon was great replacing the one that failed to lock in place at handle. ... show more
