I went fishing sat, brought it along. Now the river is 6' above flood stage so far from ideal. But we found a spot with a closed road where we could park, make a short walk to the waters edge. We set up on the bike path for solid footing and I put a ball of my cornmeal, oatmeal strawberry jello carp bait in the bait bag and threw it out in the shallows. The very top of the trap was peeking out. And with the trap we caught the only fish we caught all day. Was only a couple of 3" minnows. But I think it shows real potential. I need to do some experimenting with different baits. Like half a slice of bread, or some sardines packed in oil. Best of all might be the stuff that nightcrawlers are kept in. Overall I am very happy with mine. I did add a 20' piece of paracord with a snap on one end. So it is easy to secure to my chair/fishing bucket, etc. I think I'd like to add a chunk of lead to the bottom to help it land bottom side down. Perhaps a piece of pool noodle a foot above the trap so I can suspend it. Overall I'm tickled pink. Seems like it should last for years. Folds up to take up minimal space. ... show more

This thing is awesome for what it is! Only thing is the net is a little low quality, but for the price I'm not complaining a bit! Very packable and easy to use. The clip for the inner entries is a little difficult to use but I have large hands, I changed it out for a hair pin.

These traps fold up nicely for storage and work great in the field. Zippers can get stuck on cable ties but can be worked loose eventually. No complaints after using these for over a year so I purchased 10 more. :)

The quality is okay. It’s what’s expected. It worked great though. Caught lots of crabs, shrimp, and fish. The line did break off the trap but i just re-tied it on a different part of the trap.

First time trying this and the zipper completely broke a part. I am returning it. I personally wouldn't buy this due to the zipper and netting seem to be defective. Go buy the long tube collapsible one inside of these umbrella 6 open ones. I can't it make it thru one catch much less the summer. Concept looks great but material and practicality of usage doesn't work. We used in in our lake and place them where we placed the other ones. I’ve only used a couple times so far but it works really well for catching minnows. Since I read other reviews before purchasing I knew to handle the zipper which holds the trap open with care as it is a bit fragile. But if you take your time setting it up this trap works like a charm. I put some bread inside mine and put in a drainage ditch for 15 minutes and viola, it had quite a few baby tilapia, shiners, mosquito fish and even a few mollies in it. ... show more
