Our 3 year old and 5 year old G-Sons have played for hours building everything pictured and making their own creations. Yes gift for time played with and their sharing and creating everything their minds could come up with. These are the best toys we have ever given them. We came back and bought 4 mores sets and two other older age sets for later in age due to the great lower cost that was on these well built durable toys; the only issue we have had with them is they want to open and play with the older age group ones as well and we are thinking we will let the oldest try as his abilities are above his age group in hand eye ability . Cannot miss with purchase them before they are sold out.

This is a great educational stem gift for my young kids. Teaches my 5 year old daughter how to put things together through copying a shape in the sheet it comes with or through self discovery while playing. I was pleasantly surprised when she said that the person she was making needed more support so she added toes to feet. She could stand her person up after she added the support. It taught her about a counter weight. Her car was tipping forward so I added some more parts to the back and she said oh it needs a counter weight. Kids always surprise you with what they say and how much they actually know! This toys also helps with fine motor skills because you need to push things into slots or holes. It’ll help with spacial awareness since the order of how things are put together is important so things don’t get blocked. This is a great toy not only for creativity but with STEM skills. There are a lot of good things about the kid K’nex but there are couple things that could be better. I would have given it 5 stars if it came with a container or bag to store everything. There are a lot of little pieces that would be easy to lose if everything isn’t kept in something. It would be better if it can with more than one connector piece that has a stem on one side and hole on the other. Having more of these parts would let you build more things. Not sure if the quality of these parts. You can rotate the ends back and forth and it has enough tension to stay in place now. Hopefully it doesn’t loose this tension too quickly so it doesn’t stay in the angle you out it or been able to hold up the face or eye parts. Overall I’m very happy with the kid k’nex and very happy my daughter wants to play with them.

This toy reminds me of the early construction toy kits from the 80s, which were just meant to experiment and get creative. My toddler is only able to assemble 2 or 3 pieces together, but we both enjoy creating silly looking characters with wheels and funny eyes. The box comes full of examples of stuff you can build easily, from vehicles to insects. This is a great quality toy, the materials are flexible enough to be put together with little effort. Once you build something however, it's very easy for it to fall apart, but that's part of the fun.
