    • A decent improvement over the OEM's stock speakers
Color: Black
I ordered the black speakers because no other colors were available. However, the speakers that were delivered were more of a dark pewter color. This was great for me because it was a much better contrast to my pontoon boat's panel color. If that color was available, I would've ordered it. That being said, if had ordered the black because I wanted black, I would've been irritated, so take that for what it's worth. I vastly prefer the color I recieved, so it was a fortunate mistake for me. The speaker grills are separate pieces, so you can paint them whstever color you like. While these speakers are a vast improvement in sound quality over the base level OEM speakers that were in my boat, and I am very happy with them, don't expect high fidelity audio. These are still OEM level speakers, they're just a step up from base OEM level speakers. If you already have "premium" OEM speakers, these are likely to either sound the same, or slightly worse depending on the quality of your "premium" OEM speakers. As far as installation went, the male quick connects on the Kicker speakers are different sizes, which is pretty normal these days, but, in my case, both of the male quick connects were larger than the female quick connects on the boat, so I had to buy new female quick connects, cut the old ones off and crimp the new ones on. I just went to the hardware store and got the female quick connect size that fit the larger male quick connect. The female connector I used was a GB (Gardner Bender) 20-141F. I used that connector for both the small and large male quiick connects. The smaller male quick connect fit good enough and it was a good, tight, connection. I had to elongate the existing speaker screw holes as these speaker's screw holes were on a slightly smaller radius from the center of the speaker than the OEM speaker. In my case, the OEM speakers were mounted with 1 inch long stainless steel machine screws and nylock nuts. However, the grill on the Kicker speakers is thicker, so I had to buy 1-1/2 inch 8-32 stainless steel machine screws, stainless steel nylock nuts, and stainless steel washers. The Kicker speakers come with 1-1/2 inch stainless steel wood screws, but since, on my boat, there's no material for them to screw into, I couldn't use them. It took a few hours to install the speakers. I really like the little plastic cases that Kicker provided to protect the connectors and keep them sepatated. Overall, I like this speaker kit and it was a definitive upgrade in both appearance and sound quality on my boat. ... show more

    • Great upgrade for our 2016 Sun Tracker Party Barge 22 DLX

These were a huge upgrade for the original speakers that came with our 2016 Sun Tracker Party Barge 22 DLX. They are clearer, have much better bass, and are just plain louder than what came with the boat. I was so happy with the sound and price that I ordered a second set for our ski boat! For both the pontoon, and the ski boat (Supra Comp Ski), the screw holes lined up with the original speaker screw holes. FYI, these do not come in retail packaging. They come shipped extremely well protected in a brown cardboard box, and individually protected with brown cardboard inside the larger box. For me this was great because they were significantly cheaper than retail, and I was just popping them into our boat the same day. But if you're buying these as a gift, its good to know they aren't in traditional retail packaging. Pro Tip: if you're installing these in a newer Sun Tracker, the stock speakers are mounted with the wire connections on the side (think 9 o'clock position). Since these speakers have branding on them, which requires they are mounted up and down (think 6 o'clock position), if your wires are short (just long enough for the original speakers) like mine were, you'll have to add a couple wire extensions of a few inches. It's simple to do, and only takes a couple minutes, but you'll want to know ahead of time so you can have the supplies you need to complete the installation. ... show more

Great speaker for the price. At the time I bought these, the price was around $230. Even though these are sold are replacements, I used these for a new install in my UTV. They were a great size, sound well and look good. I like a clean install so I found the male connector for the RGB wires (Deutsch DTM04-4P). The LED lights are bright are a nice addition. Only improvement would be a snap closure secure terminal box that doesn’t use a zip tie. Other than that; great product. ... show more

    • Great sound but not a simple replacement speaker

Bought for a simple replacement speaker. After reading reviews thought they came with connector already installed. They did not. I also got no hardware and there is no gasket. They did not fit factory blue wave holes. I had to enlarge openings. Then mounting holes did not match so had to Redhill holes. Had to unsolder plug connector from existing speakers and re solder on new kickers. After 4 hours, speakers look great and sound awesome. Replaced older wet sounds speakers. These kickers are louder and crisper! Wish install would have been as simple as they made it sound. ... show more

Great speakers. Yes they do come with these quick release plugs that require some research if you want to use them. I contacted kicker and they told me they dont supply the male end plugs and that these speakers are OEM speakers that they provide for specific boat manufacturers that wire in the plugs for their boats. Kicker does not sell the plugs. After some internet research I found a company that sells the Amphenol parts. Its costs about 25 bucks in parts to wire 4 speakers and some know-how to assemble them, but I figured it out and they work beautifully. Luckily I had the amphenol crimping tool and after some youtube videos I was able to assemble them. See pics on this review. With the added kicker remote you can change the colors to almost any color. Speakers sound great and were an awesome upgrade! ... show more

    • Best sounding speakers for the money

I’ve had these for 3 years on my boat now and they are amazing. Not only the sound quality, but the longevity. They are exposed to salt and fresh water regularly and have not shown any signs of wear and tear. I had to write a review bc of the negative ones. So what if the holes don’t line up exactly, drill a new one. Took 30 seconds. Used 3 out of the 4 original holes and drilled one new one. I bought another set for my dads rv outdoor speakers so that will be the ultimate test for their durability ... show more
