Normally, solar lights heave weak battery cells (about 1000mah). opened these up and noticed 2200mah batteries. Was pleasantly surprised. The lights unfortunately do not get 100% full sunlight however they last almost through the night on high setting, so the solar cells must be decent. Built well. recommended. ... show more

I liked this since it was solar powered. It is bright and allows us to see our pathway in the dark when we let the dog out. Quality is good but I wish that it was a tad taller. The motion detection work nicely and it was pretty easy to install.

Was hoping for a bright lighting for my palm trees in front of my yard. These appear to stay lit for most of the night; however, they provide very little light and compared to all of my neighbors lighting, these are barely visible. This might be a good purchase if you need lights for small bushes or to light a walkway. Sorry to say, would not recommend them to light up trees, as my trees are small and the lighting is almost non-existent. ... show more

I was always under the impression that it was the UV rays in the sunshine that charged the batteries, but apparently not. If the sun isn't physically/visibly out, they don't charge. I got these to illuminate my house numbers at night because we sit back from the street and it's hard to see them. There is no wiring that goes to the spot, so I tried these. It is now winter, the sunshine is limited so they sit there dark for the most part. I mounted one on the house with heavy duty velcro, and the other is staked in the ground. I guess I'll pull them back inside until spring and just deal with the dark for now. If you are in the part of the country/world that gets sustained sunshine during the day, these will work wonderfully. If you are in the parts of the country/world that actually has a winter and fall with limited daylight exposure to sunshine, these aren't gong to function very well. Wish I'd known that when I ordered these, it's too late to return them now, and one of them is permanently mounted to a piece of wood for mounting to the side of the house. ... show more
