The heat plate on this flat iron was smaller than I expected. I probably should have checked the ruler rather than just imagining the size based on the description. I purchased it for a trip where my baggage was very limited, and ended up only using it once because it took so long to do all of my hair. It would be fine for someone with very short hair, or just doing touch-ups, because it fits nicely in a handbag. For my big mop of curly hair, it wasn't really worth it. When traveling it’s nice to be able to pack your flat iron in a small bag or you purse. The flat iron heats up quickly. Also is easy to use especially with my arthritic hands. One thing I don’t like is the on and off switch. The switch is in the inside area close to the blade.
