Ok so it should go without saying just how sharp these types of dicers can be but I can't stress it enough BE CAREFUL! I've gotten cut multiple times without even noticing/feeling it. These blades are razor sharp making them extremely efficient in cutting all sorts of things (your fingers included if you don't pay attention) The only thing I've had a hard time using it for are root vegetables like carrots & beets. One thing that should be changed in its design is a way to secure the chopping lid to the bottom container. Currently mine will not stay resting within the set groves for the lid to fit the container causing it to lift up and nearly tip over with every use. I've just changed gow I hold the side of it all to support both the top and bottom when using it. You can adapted too but it is a slight annoyance.

This product is cheaply made and flimsy. Chops aren’t clean and exact but was willing to put up with it until I tried to use the mandolin today. Awful. More cabbage ended up on my counter than in the tray. I am one day past return option so it will go to goodwill. Disappointed; don’t waste your money.

This works really well, and takes me about 15 seconds to dice an onion (including peeling it), and another 15 seconds to rinse and put in the dishwasher. These chopper’s blades are very sharp, but if you know that and handle them with care you’ll be fine. My adult daughter didn’t know and nicked her finger. There is a little scraping tool that lets you get any little bits that might get stuck in the push-prongs out, but sometimes I can’t get each little celery or onion bit out. It doesn’t matter because one you wash and dry it, they dry and shrink up, then they just fall out when you run the tool over it. I made a chowder we love that has diced carrots, onions, celery and potatoes. It usually takes forever, and I did it in just a couple minutes. LOVE THIS!!

I ordered 2 of these, based on reviews. I had a similar one a while back, but I cracked the tray that holds the various pieces. So I was excited to see this, and after reading such great reviews, I ordered 2: One for me, and one for my sister. I expected it to arrive yesterday, and planned our dinner around using it: chicken-&-1000-Veggie lo mein... in reality there were not 1000 veggies, but 9 veggies/spices to test on: zucchini, mushrooms, red peppers, carrots, bean sprouts, chives, onion, garlic, fresh parsley: I was excited to try out all of the various pieces! Anyway I started slicing and dicing.. and everythingwas going perfectly. It was a huge time-saver, and worked very easily! But then, when I was 7 or 8 ingredients in, I saw something odd: tiny black slivers mixing into the veggies. What is that? The first one I noticed was too small to identify, but as I searched through this mix of veggies I began finding bigger pieces. It was plastic. I started to look for the source, but nothing seemed out of place or broken. Maybe I hadn't washed it well enough prior to use? I assumed it had to be from the presser piece.. maybe after it was cut to shape small strands were left behind. So I washed it again, this time using a very thin straw-washer to run through the grooves of the presser piece. Nothing came out of it. But I went through every grooved line in both directions anyway. I tried dicing again. And again, small frays and shards of plastic. This was such a bummer. And because I hadn't emptied the cannister in between veggies, they were all rendered useless and inedible. Even had I tried to find all plastic bits it would've taken forever, and there'd be no garuntee that I got them all. Sure some were big and obvious enough, but others were so small they were practically unnoticeable. So I thought.. maybe this one is defective? Sorry sis, I'm opening yours. I washed it and scrubbed it to make sure there were no plastic bits possibly left behind, and tried again. And again, after just one cut, there were plastic bits mixed throughout. 😭 I still can't tell where they're coming from. Again, nothing is broken or chipped.. so I can't say why this is happening. It's quite infuriating. They are really hard to notice if you're not expecting/looking for them.. I could see many people just not recognizing they were there. So with all that being said, I'm returning both. And I can only hope that other buyers check reviews by date, so they will actually see this. Otherwise they might be unknowingly eating plastic.
