they arrived quickly and it was slightly difficult to connect the antenna to the chassis. My fingers were too thick. However, they work great and the small size makes them easily supported. Of the two radios, someone put the case together on one and it took some judicious prying to open the case. Do not put the cases together until you have connected the battery and antenna to the chassis and fitted it into the case. The control buttons may require pressing across a wider part of the switch to make proper contact. The case feels as if it might break if dropped onto something hard. It is clearly not designed for ruggedness. I only had to run it for 4 hours or so and it did that. I did not try to "run it until it died."

A good starter to Lorawan and meshtastic. Almost everything you need to get started - and then you'll want more. These were my first foray into Meshtastic and set up was pretty easy. I wasn't sure how much pressure was needed for the antenna pigtail but keep pressing hard until you hit it click into place. The cases are a little finicky to snap together and I've had them come apart a couple of times, especially when they've been dropped but the pieces inside have stayed resilient and working. As they're ESP32 based, they are fairly battery hungry getting about 6 hours from 95% of usage. I have had some stability issues when running with the network mode enabled and the device just stops responding and pretty sure it reboots as the uptime drops. Using the networking so I can interrogate the battery status through Home Assistant to turn the charger on and off with a separate charger. The device is in the 2nd floor room by a window and my nearest nodes are 2km away all ? hops away. The signal states it is bad. Next node is 12k away at 1 hop away but being close to a main city, I can hop to nodes 37km away at 6 hops I've had to reprogram the name of the device multiple times as I find it keeps reverting back to the meshastic name (which might be why I see so many other devices with the generic meshtastic names too)

1 worked perfectly but couldn’t ever get the second one to light the display. After a while of trying to figure out what went wrong I decided to check the board for a bad physical connection. I removed the screen via 3 screws and instantly seen the issue. Virtually impossible to see unless you remove the screen

**Easy Setup, But Completely Unacceptable Battery Performance** Setup was the only strong point. Flashing MeshTastic firmware and getting connected was quick and straightforward, and assembly was simple. Unfortunately, the battery performance is completely unacceptable. From a full 100% charge, the device dropped to 2% in roughly 8 hours—with little to no active messaging. For a device marketed and commonly used for low-power, off-grid communication, this is far outside reasonable expectations. At this level of drain, the device is not practically usable. It requires constant recharging, which defeats the purpose of having a portable, low-power communication tool. This appears to be one of the following: * A defective battery * Faulty hardware * Or a serious power management issue Regardless of the cause, this unit is not performing as it should. I expect the seller to address this. Please provide: * Clear guidance on expected battery life * Troubleshooting steps that actually resolve the issue * Or a replacement/refund if this unit is defective I wanted this device to work, and the concept is solid—but in its current state, it does not meet basic functional expectations.

This is a good set. But the dang button broke after a week of use. However, they manufacturer made it more than right. It comes flashed with Heltec's firmware which might not be trivial to change, but there are Discord servers which can help set up your device with the firmware you want. The Muzi whip might be a good product to pair this with--which is what I did. The SWR is good for 906MHz. The fit of the board and battery are fine in the case, although I had trouble with the SMA connector. I put the star washer on the inside with the split washer and nut on the outside--otherwise it just wouldn't fit. Battery life isn't that great as of this review because intelligent power management hasn't been integrated with the MeshTastic firmware. It lasts about 8-10 hours. However, it has WiFi and Bluetooth which is great for management. I would recommend WiFi if possible because it's so much faster. Connectivity seems on par with the limitations of LoRa and the environment I'm in.

Very happy with this kit. every thing is easy to put together. Good quality and great price. Works great with meshtastic. I have used mine for 3 months. Make sure to get the drivers installed for windows or Linux before trying to install firmware. Info on meshtastic website. Heltec V3 is a great starter for entry level.

Was a little nervous based upon some of the reviews but both work perfectly fine. I think some people might have connected it to a high voltage brick and fried it or didn't attach the antenna before plugging it in.
