  • Pretty good footrest....BUT
All in all this footrest is pretty good once it is setup right and not bad for the price...it does what it's supposed to do. My problem is I was sent a used footrest when I paid for a new one...It had visible dirt from someone's shoes on it and the rubber feet on the bottom had been on a floor. Not sure if this was Amazon or the seller. Also there were no setup instructions or booklet in the box, just the card that you put your hand on that is supposed to tell you what color to set this thing at. Setup wasn't hard to figure out with a little investigation into how it works and instruction would have only knocked off a minute or less, but another reason for the 3 stars is that it is not very easy to adjust for height because it is not spring loaded on the height adjustment and you have to push the mechanism up with your thumbs from the bottom to get it to move up. Again not hard to figure out but at this price point a couple of cheap springs would have been nice to assist with the function and make things easier. Maybe along with a used unit I also got a defective one I'm not sure, So anyone reading this if yours works better please reply and let me know. Other than those few things I'm pretty happy with the footrest and I do sit with better posture taking stress off of my legs and back. ... show more

  • So Comfortable!
I sit at my computer 6-12 hours a day. As a woman only slightly over 5' tall, every chair in the world is too high for me. My feet rarely touch the floor. Any doctor or chiropractor will tell you; when your feet can't comfortably reach the floor with your thighs parallel to the floor, your back will take the strain of trying to compensate. I bought a portable footrest for when I'm out of the house, but needed something larger and more comfortable for the hours I sit at my desk. This is it! The foot pad is large enough that my feet still rest on it even if I change positions. It is adjustable in height (up/down) and rotates at an angle (slant) so I can get it just right. The only negative is the written directions that come with it. They are not very clear, nor complete about how to adjust it. I figured out the slant, but couldn't find the height adjustment, even though the instructions said it was adjustable. I finally turned it over and inspected it very carefully to find the adjustment area. I then had to re-read the directions and experiment to figure out how to use it. (And I am fairly mechanical minded! I know many people who would not have been able to figure it out at all.) I gave it 5 stars, because the product itself is great. But I would encourage the manufacturer to re-write the instruction page. It is well worth the price; it costs less than the cost of a trip to the chiropractor! ... show more

  • Nice Footrest!
The footrest did come with a strong rubber (tire like) smell but it did go away after a day or two. As others said NO WORD directions .......just pictures. I almost returned the item because my husband couldn't find the color codes or figure out where the color codes were. I thought I had the wrong model and that it didn't adjust. Finally I figured it out. You need to loosen the screws and then pull up the top part and the color codes are on the side. The footrest has made a big difference on my knees. I did find myself occasionally accidentally hitting the adjustable foot pedal in front but you can easily lock it back with your foot. To eliminate having to do this I just turned the footrest around so the foot pedal is in back. Since I have no need to adjust the height or tilt the footrest, this works for me. This foot rest has served my purpose. I am only 5' 1" so my desk did not line up properly for me to be comfortable in front of the computer. I am pleased with my purchase. ... show more

  • I just bought 3 more
We have tried several brands and styles of footrests. Anyone who sits for any length of time knows how important they can be, but getting the wrong one can do more harm than good. I have been using this model for 3 years now. What's important: - Non-slip base and top so your feet or shoes don't slip off - Wide - Staff come in all sizes and anyone trying to fit on a too-narrow footrest or using one foot at a time will tell you that it is a good way to injure your hips! - Easy adjustment with your feet - no need to crawl under your desk to adjust! - All smooth edges - nothing sharp to poke you when you are not looking, or cut a cable in you accidentally set it on one. - Durable - rubber mat does not lift even after lots of use. - Price is right! Compare with other and you are right in the middle. Buy on Amazon and it's less than the office supply stores! Make your employees SAFE and happy for $30. A deal! This model also comes with a gel top which is great, but this one gives plenty of cushion for most. ... show more

  • Great footrest
I bought one for work and really liked it. No smell as others had. Since it's on carpet, it doesn't move. The adjusting pedal locks decently so I didn't have a problem with it adjusting itself. I adjusted it to a comfortable angle and it really takes pressure off my feet (I have a nerve issue). So I bought one for home. That one had an odor issue (either the glue or the material puts off a chemical smell). It's mostly (but not completely) dissipated - it seems to be the luck of the draw whether yours smells. The one here is on a plastic chair mat and moves a little across the floor if you put forward pressure on it. I found a good spot on the mat and it doesn't move anymore. The second one's pedal also locks well and the rest itself doesn't self adjust while my feet are on it. Overall, good foot rest, it does its job. 4.5 stars. ... show more
