  • A decent companion to the Surface Pro 8
I bought this reluctantly with my Surface Pro 8, primarily as I wanted a full power charge connection without using the ridiculous magnetic Surface Pro Connector. I have been using these for years, and they consistently fall out at the lightest pull. Which is ok for a charger, but for a Surface Dock it means your hard drive disconnects during a lengthy copy process - oh NO!! And with my Surface Pro Dock 2 the power connector would get so hot that it could hurt to remove it. Anyways..... This docking station, has a solid and reliable Thunderbold 4 connection, and it works perfectly. The actual Docking Station gets pretty hot, and the power adaptor buzzes so loudly you have to put it on the floor, but otherwise, everything seems to work ok with it. Meh. It's heavy and sharp edges, and obviously the standard product, labelled with a different name to jump on the Microsoft marketing bandwagon, but it works. So that's ok. ... show more

  • Works well for most things
I have a Surface Pro 8 and this is the recommended dock for it to fully utilize Thunderbolt 4. It works well for most things. Ejecting an SD card from Windows 11 causes the computer to lockup. The fix is to unplug and then replug the Thunderbolt cable into the PC. Despite this issue, it works as expected. ... show more

  • Not sure SD5750T is a real product/quality in doubt
UPDATE: I now have more experience with other brand of Thunderbolt 4 dock, and found out that the monitor issue I described below may not be a Kensington issue. The complaint surrounding the mixing product lines remain though. First of all, I am not sure SD5750T is really a product separate from SD5700T, other than a different packaging. I saw it available for purchase earlier, and almost instantaneously placed an order for my new Surface Pro 8. Once it arrived, although the outside packaging says SD5750T, what's packed inside is a SD5700T, even the user manual says the same. I called Kensington's customer support, was told that the two have "identical features," although I can opt for an exchange with Amazon. I was not interested in getting another identical product, so I waited on it for a little bit. A day after, the dock started to make a strange hissing sound, which is not clearly audible by everyone, but quite audible and annoying to me. After communication with Amazon, I went ahead and got a replacement. The new one arrived in two days, and I immediately noticed that it is an SD5700T again, which really made me think SD5750T is not a real product but a marketing scheme. Once set up, initially it worked fine, no hissing sound, everything good. Three days later, I heard the hissing sound once, but it disappeared after disconnecting/reconnecting. About the same time, however, it stopped outputting to my external monitor. After restarting, disconnecting and reconnecting, I am still not able to make it work. I guess it is asking too much regarding product quality when the packaging and product inside don't even match. ... show more

  • constantly drops the second video monitor
I like this but I am always having to reboot my surface studio so the second monitor will work. The devices have to be unplugged and reconnected as well. Looking for a new option.

  • Overpriced Trash, unusable in less than a year
It would always randomly refresh the connected monitors, annoying, but tolerable. Unable to connect my Asus ROG Strix with a M.2 drive to play games, it would always cause Windows to hang, but still not a deal breaker, just disappointing. However, now it acts as though I have a keyboard connected to it with a stuck spacebar key. For the price I expect it to work flawlessly, I'll never buy another Kensington docking station. ... show more

  • Great for six months, then died. Company refused to issue any refund
I was excited about this, being designed for my Microsoft Surface Laptop, and for the first six months, it was great. However, after six months, the USB output ports all died. I solved that by connecting my USB hub directly to my work laptop, but that didn't work for my Surface. Then an additional 2 months later my two displays with stop, randomly for a few seconds. The company refused to issue any refund even though it was well within a year's warranty. Last time these folks are getting any of my money. ... show more
