We finally upgraded our dishwasher, and it was long overdue. Our favorite cycle is the Smart Wash, which adjusts automatically based on how dirty everything is- no more guessing which setting to use! The removable third rack is a huge plus, fitting awkward utensils, lids, and measuring cups without taking up space in the main racks. The racks also adjust easily to fit taller dishes or wine glasses, making loading a breeze. It runs quietly, so we barely notice it’s on, and everything comes out spotless. We honestly don’t know how we lived without it for so long! This upgrade has made cleanup effortless, and we couldn’t be happier with the performance. The media could not be loaded. Worst dishwasher I’ve ever owned. I own 14 properties and have had every brand of appliance in them. Unfortunately we decided to go with all Kenmore in one property recently. This is the SECOND dishwasher we’ve had from this same order. Video explains it all. So far so good. It has a quiet wash setting that is very quiet and a "smart wash" setting that is about an hour faster than the normal wash. I should say I was disturbed when I was trying to research it and the Amazon AI bot Rufus would not tell me who manufactured it. First it claimed Kenmore made it (Kenmore is a brand not a mfr), then admitted when confronted that Kenmore is indeed just the brand name but it couldn't tell me who made it without the model number (how does it not have that?). Anyway it came and I was disheartened to find that the model number corresponds to GE which apparently does not make very good dishwashers. So, we'll see... an update may be coming... I hope not.. but in the meantime be informed, this is a GE dishwasher labeled Kenmore lol ... show more

    • Quality Dishwasher Held Back by Small but Annoying Oversights

Installing this dishwasher was a mixed bag. For the price, it really should come with the water-line elbow fitting. That’s such a cheap, essential part that omitting it feels unnecessarily stingy. If you’re replacing an older dishwasher you might already have a usable line, but not necessarily the right fitting — and in my case, even with a braided line, the fitting still should’ve been included. Wiring it was straightforward: white, black, green — just like any other household appliance. The drain hose seems solid so far, and with no leaks, that part’s a win. Actually getting the machine to start a cycle took more work than it should have, because the manual isn’t very helpful. The information is technically there, but it feels like it was written by someone who has never actually installed or used a dishwasher. Important details were missing, but thankfully I’ve installed enough dishwashers in my life to muddle through. I was also disappointed to find that my unit had clearly been opened before. Some hardware was missing — nothing I couldn’t replace from my own stash — and there was a scratch on the front of the door. At 57, I’m not going to lose sleep over a scratch I didn’t put there, but a new appliance shouldn’t arrive looking like it was returned and resold. The dish trays leave me a little conflicted. They’re clearly designed with a specific loading pattern in mind, which is fine if your dishes fit exactly into their layout… but not everyone’s will. Instead of dictating how buyers should load their machine, a more universal, flexible design would be better. That said, the machine itself feels well-built. My first run on the standard cycle was impressively quiet, and the fact that there’s an even quieter “whisper” mode is wild. At least my cats won’t freak out. My biggest installation gripe — besides the missing fitting — is the lack of any tie-downs or straps to keep the power cord and water line in their channels. Every time I slid the washer in or out, the lines would slip underneath the unit, causing more headaches than necessary. A couple of clips, ties, or even a basic guide would save a lot of frustration. After pulling it in and out several times, I finally wrangled everything into place, and now that it’s running, things seem good overall. TL;DR High-quality, very quiet dishwasher with a frustrating installation experience. Missing essential parts, unclear manual, and poorly managed cord/hose channels made setup harder than it needed to be. Once installed, though, it works well and runs quietly. ... show more

The tines on the bottom rack slant such that our plates do not fit well in it. Perhaps we'll learn a method to correct this. Out of curiosity I went on line to see if there were options to buy other bottom racks, and when in the Sears Parts Direct website I could only find one replacement part that was available for all parts of this dishwasher. Comments at the site for each replacement part said that the parts were no longer being manufactured and that there were no parts available. How odd since this is a brand new dishwasher. I can still find parts for our 15 year old Kenmore Elite dishwasher, but not a new one. ... show more
