I work in the oilfield and most coolers I buy are cheap igloo ones I decided I needed a heavy duty cooler that held ice so I purchased this cooler in red. Looks amazing and well built buuuuttt I live in south Texas and it doesn’t hold ice all day. It sits in the back of my truck of course but if I fill it up with ice at 6 am by 10 am cooler is halfway with ice. Still a nice cooler but for the price just go to academy and get you a store brand it will have more to offer and might hold ice longer. ... show more

I loved that the cooler was delivered 5 days ahead of the scheduled date. Looks very nice in yellow. It looks and feel like it's well built and durable. But after close inspection, I noticed the following discrepancy: Lid gasket is too thin and small to completely seal around the cooler lip, water leak on all sides when shaken or tipped to sides. Not watertight or airtight. The latch is weak and will not pull the lid tight enough to seal the box. The drain has no retainer like other cooler. The lid has unequal gap. The walls are approximately 1-5/8" thick only. The four corners are the only areas that has approximately 3" thickness. And last but not the least, the ice turns into water in less than 24 hours. I think if the manufacturer replaces the insulation with a larger and thicker size, it will become airtight and watertight, and will improve ice retention. I am very disappointed because I really like the color. The size is just right, and the weight is manageable. I hate returning items, but this will not serve me well especially if it's not watertight. It will be costly later when it accidentally gets tipped/shaken inside the vehicle. I would buy it again if the insulation and latching mechanism is updated. But I cannot recommend this until the discrepancy is corrected. At this price range, I also expect a locking tab and a bottle opener as others do. ... show more

I first looked at both Yeti and Arctic units... mainly because they both do an exceptional job at marketing their products! The reviews on the Kenai were very good so I gave it a try. You will see many reviews saying that new owners of the Kenai unit have tried competitive brands in the past and found that after a few hours, the ice they put in the units had melted. They go on to say that their experience with the Kenai was the complete opposite. I have not used a Yeti or Arctic but can attest to the quality of the Kenai. Offering a bit of data... first, we did but the cooler insert/divider which I also strongly recommend. Not because it's "icier" than any others but because it fits very nicely in this unit. Two weeks ago we drove 14 hours from the Northeast US to the Southeast US and the outside temps we over 90 degrees F the entire drive. The Kenai cooler sat in the back of our SUV right under the rear window. In addition to the cooler insert, my wife put a few ziploc bags of ice cubes in the cooler on top of the frozen food we were transporting in the cooler. When we arrived and opened the cooler around 15 hours later, the bagged ice cubes were 100% frozen still and not a drop of water appeared in any of the bags. I was beyond amazed. ... show more

I've owned A LOT of Grizzly stuff over the years and decided to try this part of their brand for price and size. I love my Grizzly 60qt, but can get heavy fully iced for 1 person and as an every day cooler. I drink 1 gallon of water a day and wanted to be able to hold all my food and smaller 64 or 32oz water bottle in the truck to and from job sites around AZ. I figured the 25qt was too small for my needs. I also love that it matches my Grizzly 60. The latches are a bit different and there's no lock hole, but I didn't see those necessary for this cooler. We watched a video that compared some of the big brand coolers. We decided to give this one a try and have absolutely no regrets! We used frozen water bottles instead of ice cubes to keep it cold. We had frozen solid water bottles at six days. I could not believe it! So if you think you’re gonna be drinking those frozen water bottles by the end Of the day… You will be disappointed! I love how this cooler is constructed, its design, and color I chose. I was amazed that it actually kept food very cold for up to 5 days when I was on a boat. The ice packs work great and I can fit quite a bit of food, juice bottles, etc. I'm very impressed with it.

Great roto cooler. Lots of colors to choose from. A little less thick wall than other more expensive coolers. That is usually the difference in price of roto coolers. Does not have lockable corners so technically not bear proof. The latches are easier to open than some other styles but they do stay closed and are easier to close also. Great looking cooler in the back of my truck for everyday use. Can be strapped down so that lid will still open and also has strap grooves on top of lid for completely strapping closed.
