It worked well to tent the boat cover to shed rain water. But the extendable rod twists to lock. there is no way to lock it in place. if you do not get it tight enough it will collapse. Mine did and my cover got shredded on the windshield. I suggest you set it how you like it and drill holes to put in a small sheet metal screw to lock it open. Once i get a tarp to cove my Stingray Bow-rider Boat i will be doing that. But i have issues of pain in my hands. I like it though. light to move. needs ratchet straps which i will add. the ones on it are tough to get tight. when in place.

This works pretty well at holding up my boat cover. It's probably not as sturdy as I had hoped, but it does the job it says it will do and it was affordable. I'd recommend it.

Outside of the Amazon return window, I noticed the locking mechanism for the pole height adjustment wasn't working properly and would slowly slip. I contacted the manufacturer. I didn't hear back from the sales department so it was looking like they were not going to replace it. I then posted this review which I have now edited and the company reached out and provided a replacement. I have edited from 1 star to 4 since they are standing behind it. Hopefully the first unit was a random defect and the replacement will last.

Bought his cover my pontoon boat through the week. The center pole tension pressure is weak and the straps worked great until the center pole top plastic disk where they connect broke. This piece should have been made out of metal. I wanted it tight through the week, but there is no way to do this if it rains unless you strap it underneath each time. it at least kept the leaves and pollen off my new seats. It makes a much better seasonal cover for when you put the boat away on the trailer for the year, but I still had to put some cross supports as the span from front to back on the straps is too long. To improve this the straps should have a cross web between the two in each direction to pevent puddling of water when it rains.

I removed one star on this support post due to the upper adjustable segment not locking all that strongly. The lower can be set and locked and holds it's position completely, even under load. But the top segment (smallest diameter rod) struggles to hold up when a little tension is put on it. The straps work great and once you figure out where they need to go to hold up the boat cover the best under heavy rains, it works great!
