I know better than to assume the photo on a product page is accurate. I know to rely on the actual dimensions posted in standard units of measure, like inches. But, this time I got deceived. There's a photo of the largest bin (referred to as "Huge" size) containing many vegetables, including a head of green cabbage. The cabbage appears to consume about 1/5 of the container. A medium sized cabbage that I placed in my "Huge" size container, takes up 1/2 the total space. There are human hands holding the container as reference as well. So, I was surprised at how small the containers were compared to what I was expecting based on the images. See photos I've posted of a comparison of the image I took off the website and one I took. The smallest container is presented as holding what appears to be at least a pint of mixed berries. A pint holds about 2 cups of berries. The little container is described as holding 12 oz, not 16 oz. They must just have really small berries where they took the product photos. The sizes described in inches and ounces is accurate. I just hate when product photos are so overstated. As for other characteristics, these are well made storage containers with secure lids snap shut on all four sides and come with a silicone seal. For me, the interior colander is just another valuable storage container for my hobbies, and I can use even the very tiny containers for some of my items...so the size discrepancy in what I got and what I thought I'd get isn't a big issue. I don't see a value in the colander for rinsing fruits or veggies - why not just use a standard colander you already have that is substantial in size and you don't have to worry about the product overflowing it. I just don't know why manufacturers edit photos to present an unrealistic image of what they are selling. It leaves me wondering where else they may be altering the truth. I want to give this review a 3, but this is a lesson in being thorough in reading the specs and trying not to be hoodwinked by erroneous photos. ... show more

These just arrived and we washed them to give them a try. LOVE THEM! The lids are a solid style with 4 clips closing each side tightly. They also have gaskets to make that seal perfect. The principle is to load your produce into the basket, wash it and then either allow it to dry thoroughly before placing the basket into the tub, or place it directly. We used the large tub to store some apples and mandarin oranges for a fruit salad. Then next day, we washed them thoroughly and were able to then chop them for the salad. The next size down we used to wash some small colourful peppers as soon as we brought them home. Now we can grab what we need right from the tub. The sizes are great for the varied veggies and fruits we buy weekly. The square/rectangular shape helps keep your fridge looking organized and tidy. Honestly, I'm not sure what I like the most about them. The fact that they seal so easily and the lids are clearly strong and aren't going to crack around the edges like so many plastic container lids? The fact that they have inserts that allow air to circulate around the contents? The fact that they nest together to save space in your cupboards? The fact that the set includes one small container to hold that tiny amount of leftovers that you never have a container quite small enough to make it worth saving? I agree that it seems ridiculous that a set of food storage containers can make somebody this happy. But these do. I might need some more. ... show more

The removable drain colanders could be used separately. The 5 different sizes meet my storage needs very well . These 5 sizes are all very good. There is no useless size. They are also very easy to store. When not in use, stack them together like matryoshka dolls. Very convenient and space saving. The lids fit securely, keeping my fruits and vegetables fresh for a longer time. They are food grade material and BPA free. I feel very comfortable using them to store food.
