  • A great tent
Size: 4 Person
Tent is a good size and bag is easy to pack back into. Intuitive set up and take down, blackout is great for sleep in too.

  • It's great
Size: 6 Person
We love it, but the rain fly could roll back more when not needed to allow for better access to door. We've been rained on several times and never gotten wet (we did waterproof it at the beginning of the summer). I can put this tent up by myself in 10 min and it's very easy to take down and store back in it's bag. Comes with fiberglass poles vs aluminum but it does include better stakes than average. If fits one king mattress and one twin with a foot and a half to 2 ft along one edge. You'd have a lot more room if you used a queen vs king but I'm not sure you could fit two queens comfortably. ... show more

  • Great 2 Person Tent
Size: 4 Person
This tent is really meant for 2 adults who like to have space. That being said, this tent is great. We loved the sloped opening when it rained and we were able to stay dry, even without a tarp on the bottom. It was relatively easy to setup - the instructions are almost nonexistent.

  • Perfect tent for new adventures!

  • Almost perfect
Size: 6 Person
This review is for the 6 person size: Overall for the price this tent is pretty impressive, especially given the blackout quality and size. PRO’s -room and tall! I’m just under 6’ and can stand up fully in the center portion of the tent. Like most tents, while this can technically fit 6 people all crammed in, 4 people or less is more ideal. -has 4 pockets for personal items inside plus a white hammock for the top which acts as a great light diffuser for a hanging lamp. -materials overall are mid-range. Not unexpected for the price point. It’s definitely not top tier heavy duty but doesn’t seem like it will necessarily fall apart after 1 use. -it’s pretty easy to set up as one (tall) person. 2 people would make very quick work of it. The trickiest part is getting the rain fly on especially if there’s a breeze, but I was able to do it myself using the wind direction to my advantage. -the blackout layer definitely works! It is just an inherent part of the rain fly and not something you can add separately just fyi. You’ll have to figure out where your ideal point between light blockage and ventilation is for yourself. The more air you want to let in, the more light leakage you’re going to have. BUT it is plenty dark in broad daylight even with all the ventilation gaps fully opened. We plan on using it to help our toddler nap in the middle of the day and I’m hoping this helps. I would say the heat buildup is moderate with the vents fully opened. I would recommend having some battery operated fans if you plan on using it in warm weather. We have a lower profile 4 person tent without a blackout layer and I would say it gets similarly warm during the day because the roof is a lot lower and that particular rain fly is quite robust. -the vestibule area is decently sized. Easy enough for an adult to close from inside (while ducking). -the included stakes aren’t the worst and did fine on my test setup without bending (but I would still recommend buying heavy duty ones for your own sanity) -there are extra lines included on the outside of the rain fly for hanging clothes, towels, etc. CON’s: -only 1 doorway. Not the biggest issue and I guess not uncommon for larger (and cheaper) tents, but being used to a tent with 2 openings and also if you plan on cramming more than 4 people in it, it can be a bit limiting. -one 1 air vent in the rain fly. It’s well made at least but having a 2nd one for cross ventilation would really help with the heat, especially if you’re trying to maximize light blockage. -the main tent is completely mesh material starting from a few inches off the ground. For both privacy and night time temperature/condensation concerns, I wish there was more solid material built into the walls. I might be spoiled by our current top-rated tent, though. As such I have some concerns about the climate versatility of this tent. -the instructions are absolutely minimal. Granted, it’s not rocket science to figure out, but still. The rain fly goes on a certain way as the main vestibule has a different design and is bigger than the opposite side. The corner straps are color coded to help you figure that out but there’s no illustration to show you what that means so I ended up putting it on backwards the first time. -no included footprint. This is a minor gripe that goes for almost all tents, but I really don’t understand why companies don’t just include it. Fortunately Kelty makes one specifically for this tent and it’s not absurdly expensive (though not exactly cheap either). You can of course buy a 3rd party footprint or just use a generic tarp, but you ideally want one slightly under the dimensions of the tent so that condensation doesn’t drip down the tent and seep between the footprint and the tent floor and this tent isn’t exactly a square size, so I’m just going to get the exact one from kelty. Overall lots of features for the price point with relatively minor drawbacks overall. How it holds up over time and in the rain are yet to be determined. Will be testing for real in late summer. If it had one more air vent in the top and had more solid material in the inner tent construction it would easily be 5 stars ... show more

  • Quality when there isn't any
Size: 4 Person
This is a great purchase. Easy to set up. Without the rain fly very great views during screen mode so to speak. Quality material and construction beefy zippers. Would definitely purchase again

  • Worth it
Size: 4 Person
I’ve owned Kelty tents in the past where it withstood heavy downpours when others leaked. This is my third Kelty tent in 30 years. Can’t go wrong

  • A great brand with even greater quality
Size: 6 Person
Kelty is a well-known brand in the outdoor world, so I knew I would be getting superior quality from this tent. The sizing is perfect for a family of 3, and it's super easy to set up, especially with an extra set of hands helping you. My wife, son, and I fit in this tent nicely along with our 3 single person sleeping cots. I'm 5'11", so I do have to duck a little to move around, but it's not anything I'm worried about. Lucky for the wife, she's 5'3", so she has it easy lol. The gear loft is a nice feature too; as it allows space for your items. It says you can put lighting up there, but I don't know how safe that is for lamps that get hot. There's an additional pouch to place things like phones or snacks in too, so that's kind of nice. Overall this is a solid tent, and the price is fair across the board, so you're not paying any extra here for it. I definitely rate this a 5/5 and can't wait to use it more. ... show more
