My three outdoor cats LOVE this heating pad! They have not left it in weeks other than when it warms up. I bought it because the temperature started getting really cold and they had shelter but not heat. A heat lamp wouldn't work so I opted for this heating pad. The timer option allows for warm day shutoff and the heat level options are warm enough to keep all three happy during our winter storms. I put a blanket over it to protect it from claws and to add some extra insulation for them. Would but again anytime!

This works as we expected, and indoors it seems to be just fine for our dogs and cat as they seem to take turns getting on the bed heater. Level 1 appears sufficient, indoors, for each of them and we can set the timer for 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 hours or just set it at the “on” setting and it won’t shut off via the timer settings. This can also be used outdoors due to its waterproof design. Nice unit.

This is a great little heating pad, it warms up quickly and provides heat across the entire surface. The timer and heat selection are easy to use. I purchased the heating pad for a feral cat that I'm working with to keep her warm during the cooler winter nights. During the summer months the heater will not be required, but the pad itself seems very comfortable for feral cats, as they tend to sleep on surfaces that are not overly cushy in the wild. I only provided four stars because I believe they should have made the connection on the heating pad side a quick disconnect to the timer/heater control panel. The timer/heater control panel is approx. 4 inches long by 2 inches wide and located in the middle of the electrical cord. If the pad side electrical connection going into the control panel was a quick disconnect, you could drill a small one-half inch hole on the bottom of a outdoor shelter and push the cord thru, connect the electrical cord back up and plug it in. The way the cord is configured now, you have to hang the cord out of the access door to the shelter, leaving the connection point on the heating pad susceptible to the elements. The cost to do this would be minimal, but the added safety would easily justify the additional cost and would be a good selling point as no one seems to be doing this.

1. The box states that heat will dissipate if in cold area. 2. Not even warm enough in my warm house. 3. There is no padding on this at all. It's flat and the material is very thin (but soft). The box says to put a mat on top of this to insulate heat, but it doesn't give off enough heat and this will not work outside. This is fine for INSIDE only. Now I need to return and wasted a lot of time.

Bought this for my barn cat to keep him comfortable during the freeze we had recently, he loves it, it's durable enough to stay warm throughout the night and repels dirt well enough. I've got it covered so I can't guarantee it's water resistance outside of an over turned water bowl, but I think it'll hold well. Works way better if you can put it in a small drawer-shaped container to insulate the heat
