KeepCup has refined and added to their cup lineup over the years, and the Thermal is without a doubt their best effort to date. Other than the rather high price, I struggle to find anything to complain about - as far as I am concerned, this one gets pretty much everything right. I've had one of the 12oz glass KeepCups for the past 4-5 years, which I've used with both silicone and cork bands (I preferred the look and feel of the cork, although the cork bands did not hold up very well in my experience, after breaking at least two of them I decided to move back to the silicone band). I choose the glass Brew model over the plastic Original model mostly for taste and drinking experience reasons - you don't need to worry about flavors getting impregnated into a glass cup like you do with plastic. But glass is heavier and less resistant to impact than plastic. And neither of those models offers much in the way of insulation. The Longplay model mostly solves the insulation issue, but the additional booster cup is easily marred with scratches, it is far heavier than either the Original and Brew models, while also being more difficult to clean (and the Original/Brew models aren't exactly easy to clean, either - cork bands don't mix very well with water, and even with the silicone band, water tends to get stuck behind it and you'll have to remove it occasionally for more thorough cleaning). And so enters the Thermal model. I've found it far easier to live with than the Brew - I appreciate the added insulation, haven't noticed any differences in taste (flavor retention does not appear to be an issue), it offers a larger usable grip area (with the double-walled insulation there is no need to worry about hotspots anymore, and practically the entire exterior of the cup is coated in durable silicone), but most importantly and primarily due to the lack of a removable silicone/cork band, the cup itself is very easy to wash/clean. As an added bonus, it's also lighter - with lids/silicone band included, my lab scale indicates that the 12oz glass Brew is 271.7g, while my 12oz Spruce Thermal is 212.0g. Additionally, and this wasn't something I'd seen explicitly mentioned elsewhere yet, the lid included with the Thermal is identical in size and design vs the lid that was included with the Brew, they are interchangeable. I view that as a positive thing because it was already good design and didn't need fixing.

It's a great cup, but the lid usually leaks after about an hour or so. Following the manufacturer's suggestion of putting the lid in the dishwasher does get it back into shape for a tight seal, but I do wish it were a bit more reliable. (I wonder if I just got a bad lid? I have a smaller glass version of the same cup and it doesn't have this problem.)

Keeps that roll outa bed for drill instant coffee hot till lunch........ Pretty easy to clean, but it dose leak a little from the top around the seal (or lack of) for the plugger while walking to your emergancy station.... Oh and if your brave enought to order the white one I warn you now don't let that dizzle of coffee down the side of the cup sit too long or it'll neaver come off...........

I am very satisfied with this reusable coffee cup. Of all the ones I have used in this past, this is definitely the best one. It is easy to drink from, keeps my coffee hot for an extended period of time, and is leakproof. KeepCup has refined their product and has hit the sweet spot in this iteration of their cup. Many of the issues (leaking, staining, can't drink the last sip in the mug when the lid is on, easily breakable, etc) I have had with older versions of their product and ones made by other companies are a non-issue here. I love being able to enjoy my coffee on the go, then throwing my mug in a bag without worrying about the last few drops leaking over documents in my bag. I absolutely have no complaints with this fantastic looking mug. 10/10 would recommend.

The first one I received had an annoying rattle between the layers so I returned it. The second one is fine. I really like the way this looks and feels. I also greatly appreciate how easy it is to clean. It works just fine to keep coffee warm. My one complaint is that it leaks out of the drinking hole when you drink. It's also not even close to spill proof but if you knock it over the spill won't be terrible. It's enough to save any thing in the immediate area.

I’ve owned two of the original keep cups for many years and so far have been happy with them. One of them was showing its age so I decided to replace it with one of the new Thermal Keep Cups and I’m blown away by how much better this is, it’s almost a completely new product. The thermal capabilities are great, I’ve poured a piping hot cup and the outside stays cool to the touch and I have been able to enjoy my coffee still hot after several hours. Convenience is also a major factor in the improvements since this new cup is just one solid piece with no plastic band that can fall off.
