    • Garbage!! barely worn and sole is falling off. No returns on Amazon even though they are new. BOoo!

Do not buy these! Super overpriced and poorly made. Complete garbage... Keens are not built the way they use to be! I have only worn these boots a couple times and one of the soles are completely falling off. Otherwise these overpriced boots look new- Sad! The sole appears to have been poorly glued on at best. If I Had been smart enough to buy these at a local store I could take them back but since I bought these boots from this crappy online company I am out several hundred dollars... ... show more

I got these boots at about 1/2 retail, and at that price I am very happy. I had been wearing shoes that were way too narrow and I injured the smallest toes on one foot. These Keen Pyrenees have a nice wide toe box, and since I have been wearing them, my small toes are healing nicely. Plenty of room for my toes to move. I usually wear size 12, but I went with size 13 and they are working well. The boots felt hard under foot for about 25 miles, then softened up nicely. I walk mostly on pavement (maybe 25% on trails.) I have about 100 miles on them. The tread wears pretty quickly on pavement, but pavement is hard on most hiking shoes. Pros: solid but not too heavy. easy entry and exit for your foot. nice looking (personal opinion). Good quality insoles. Plenty of protection underfoot, yet provides some flexion and sensitivity. Cons: Hot, but not worse than other waterproof boots. ... show more

I will preface this by saying that I wore these boots every single day for a year. I wore them at work (facilities maintenance) and camping/hiking at least once a month. Either way, I bought a pair of these right about a year ago now, and they are absolutely toast. The treads are pretty much gone and the sole is starting to fall off. I walk a lot at work and work a lot at home, all while wearing these boots though. Still, it seems like they should have held up a little better. These are very comfortable boots though, and they look really good. They also are in fact waterproof when they're new, but mine began to leak (even when just walking through puddles) after about 6 months of daily use. If you're just planning on using them around town or they are your designated hiking boots and they only see use on the weekends, they'll probably last a while longer. If you work on your feet and want a good boot to wear every day, this probably won't be functional for more than a year (if that). To replace them I bought the Keen Independence utility boot. It looks similar but it has a composite toe and seems to be built a little sturdier. They're definitely heavier, but they are still comfortable... they're warm though. Probably too warm for summer, so I bought another pair of these Pyrenees too. I figure I'll just wear them in the warmer months and maybe I'll get more life out of them. We'll see.
