Been using this on an outdoor fence. So far it's been fine. It's been rained on several times over the last few weeks and it still works fine. Already looks a little weathered so we'll see how it works as it gets cold. The key is nice to have and I find myself using it more than the combination.

If you have forgotten the combo here is how it works. Turn the key clockwise until it stops then turn each of the dials until they stop on a number. The number showing now is the combination. Then pull the shackle up. You can now reset the combo just the same way as most of these locks by lining up the dimple on the shackle with the slot in the body of the lock, pushing down then turning it. Sort of a cool feature but the problem I see is all the locks are keyed the same (I bought 4 of them) so anyone can open and reset the combination who has any key from any of this series of locks. I used these for classroom breakout boxes. They are very easy to reset for teachers and so easy to unlock with a code that even a first grader could do it. The o lay complaint I have is that the lock will not lock back if the combination is not correct.

It’s a nice idea to make this lock, and instead of the TSA bs I can have a key besides combinations. I use it to look the ammo box and transportation of my firearm(s), so one key in my biometric safe and the other on my chain. However, don’t expect this is something like master lock kind of sturdy thing, and I am sure it won’t survive if I shot it with even 22 cal.
