    • Protects Hands from Getting Burned

With these Kate Spade oven mitts, you can be safe AND be stylish at the same time. The mitts are at the maximum of 5 inches wide. So, if your palm is greater than 5 inches across, this mitt is too small for you. The opening of the mitt extends just slightly beyond my wrist. When I was taking out a baking sheet of cookies, I felt my fingers being warm but not burning hot. It’s no different than if I were using oven gloves. The padding is at least 1/4” thick and quilted on the inside. There are silicone dots on the inner aspect of the mitt to further keep the hot pan from your fingers. It’s 100% cotton except for the silicone dots. Another great thing about it is that it’s Machine Washable! This pair of mitts would make a great gift, too. ... show more

I liked these a lot, until I used them to pick up something heavy from the oven and the heat bled through to my hands. It wasn’t drop-the-pan-and-run-for-the-aloe vera time but it told me these aren’t really heavy-duty potholders. They are good for lighter handling. Although the measurements are literally right there in the item title, I was concerned that "mini" would mean "barely useful" but the price certainly suggested these weren't just gimmicks. These mini mitts are my first minis.. and I’ve gotta say, they’re growing on me! I wasn’t sure about using a non-full size mitt at first. But I love how easy these are to grab and slide on. The silicone grippers are a lifesaver when it comes to grabbing slippery Pyrex glassware, phew. They’re just plain cute too. Plenty of padding so you’ll never get burned.
