I'm so oblivious to trendy fashion (I'm more a classic style) I only had an inkling that Kate Spade was a big deal. When I opened the package, I could tell this was the real deal though. It was meticulously packed - OVERpacked, you could say. Every last bit of metal was protected, even on the inside zippers. The main compartment was stuffed with form fitted paper and cardboard, etc. etc. And the original Kate Spade tag was attached. Forgot to take a pic before I tossed it. It also came with a lovely satin bag for storing the purse. Never had such luxury. Gonna waterproof this ASAP! I can see why this brand is considered luxury. The leather is exquisite quality, and the craftsmanship is top notch. Stitching, hardware attachments, etc. It has short handles and a detachable, adjustable strap. The only thing I dislike about this purse is the attachment hardware for the straps blocks access to the side pockets. It takes 2 hands to get something out of the pocket, because you have to move the ring out of the way. Kinda defeats the purpose of a side pocket, IMO. The inside main compartment is generous in size (wallet, phone, calendar, Kindle, and all kinds of odds and ends that go into a woman's purse. There are 2 inside pockets, one that zips and one that doesn't. I've already gotten compliments on its looks, despite how simple the design is. As for function, it's my new favorite purse! What a great find.

This purse is so beautiful I didn’t even want to take it out of the wrapping in fear of scratching or scuffing the leather. It is so well made and is smooth to the touch. The purse is small making it easy to carry as an everyday bag. One thing I was a little disappointed with was the packaging. It came wrapped in the thin styrofoam seen on the handles but was just inside a plastic bag. For that price I was hoping it would at least come in a box or something nicer to look at.

I got this satchel for my wife and she’s been using it for a couple of weeks now. I wanted to get her something stylish yet practical, and this seemed like a perfect choice. So far, my wife is really happy with this Kate Spade satchel (she loves Kate Spade products). It’s a beautiful, elegant bag, and the quality lives up to the brand's reputation, it met our expectations in terms of design, and my wife especially loves the crossbody option for hands free convenience. The leather is soft and feels premium, and the faux suede lining inside adds a nice touch of luxury. The 3 compartments and 5 pockets are perfect for keeping her things organized, especially when on the go. The adjustable crossbody strap is also a nice addition, allowing her to carry it comfortably. The size is just right for fitting essentials like her phone, wallet, and a few small items without being bulky. The only downside is the price tag.

I was so impressed with the careful way this Kate Spade bag was packed. And the bag is beautiful with a luxurious detachable shoulder strap and a very classic look. The thing that makes this bag unusable for me is that the zipper opening is too small. You have to pull it wide to see inside and even then it would be hard to see or find anything other than something large. The two interior side pockets (one with zipper) are going to be difficult to use. Never mind seeing what is in them. I am so sorry as I was looking forward to getting this bag and using it. Unfortunately, it is not usable for me.

I am not a purse-person; nine times out of ten, I would rather have a cheap backpack slung over my shoulder than a pricey purse on my arm. But, this might be the one out of ten item that makes me excited to actually carry a purse. It's not just the amazing smell and softness of the real leather, or the exquisite craftsmanship that one would expect from Kate Spade. I have never owned a Kate Spade bag before (I’m not a huge “name brand” girl), but I always wanted one and have been in need of a new crossbody, so had to try out this kate spade new york Women's Puffed Smooth Leather Satchel. First of all, this arrives SUPER protected!!! I love that!! It also includes a dust bag which is perfect for storing away when you’re not using it. This was supposed to replace my “every day” purse but it’s a little to thick for that (for me, at least). So, I am keeping it in its dust bag for special occasions!! The quality is AMAZING!! I truthfully have never seen anything like it (hence me not being a name brand girl haha)! It will definitely last a long time as long as you take care of it! Love that it comes with a long strap as well (hence me thinking it would replace my everyday crossbody). But regardless, I absolutely love it and am very happy with my first Kate Spade bag!

I needed a new all black bag and chose this one but I am still on the fence over whether I like this bag or not. While it is extremely well made, the style isn't just "puffed" but chunky to the point of being bulkier, giving it a "heavy" look. I LOVE the wide, adjustable strap, as well as the pockets inside and out. The zipper does not catch and the main interior pocket is roomy. There are no "feet" on the bottom of the bag and so I will have to stay vigilant not to scuff it up! A chic looking bag for many uses, day or night, it is just a matter of size and design taste. Would make a great gift though!
