This review is for KATE FARMS Organic Kids Nutrition Strawberry Shake (this is what was sent to me, not the chocolate variant). Not my first Kate Farms shake. As an adult, there's strawberry flavor, although a very light and subtle chalk flavor to it. When cold, and adequately shaken (which creates bubbles in the texture), it lightens it up. That said, I've offered it to my kid and she doesn't seem to gravitate to it. Might be too healthy!

The media could not be loaded. This is definitely a comprehensive product ftom a trusted manufacturer. I'm a child-sized adult and love how "pure" these drinks are regarding the avoidance of many common allergens. It is also vegan and non-GMO, which I definitely appreciate. I also love that it's USDA organic. : ) I personally felt the taste was really pleasant. It's not overly chocolatey and doesn't have an aftertaste. The flavor is definitely something I suspect kids would like. The consistency or mouthfeel was also really pleasant. The drinks are incredibly smooth with no grittiness and feel very similar to milk without being a dairy product. Overall, this product tastes greats and sat well in my stomach. It has a higher price point than I prefer, so the value is a bit tougher for me to justify. However, I definitely feel this is a high quality and very likely safe product. Especially if you're looking to avoid meat, dairy, and/or common allergens - this product might be perfect for you or your kids. I'm definitely a fan. : )

This protein shake is in an easy to open carton. They are user friendly for on the go or even a lunchbox. In terms of flavor, I found them to taste pretty much like every other chocolate protein shake I have ever tried. I served them to my kids on ice, from the refrigerator and room temperature. I personally found it to be the most palatable over ice. My kids however didn’t like it any of the three ways. I think some children may like these types of drinks more than others. However my kids wouldn’t drink it after the first taste. I do think the blend seems healthy and well crafted. As long as kids have shown a liking for protein drinks in the past, they would like this one just as well. The flavor isn’t exact to chocolate milk. It does have that protein aftertaste. Unfortunately my children were not interested in the shake.

I always test anything that's for my kids first, just to be sure it tastes good and it's safe. I'll say this had no negative effects, but the flavor and texture were both so strange. I really disliked it. I tried to finish one just to see how "full" it really made me feel, but after drinking about 2/3 of it... i just couldn't take another sip. The strawberry flavor reminded me of kids cough syrup or tooth paste flavoring. The texture had a strange chalky aftertaste that I just couldn't get off my tongue. There's no way I would offer this to my toddlers. It's a shame. I was hoping for a back up on days when they were being picky eaters. I'll keep looking because this is not the one.
