I've ordered Lavazza ground coffee from time-to-time over the years, always in the vacuum sealed bags. This was the first time ordering Lavazza in a can. Even from first-use the coffee tasted bitter, not fresh, and overall unimpressive. Definitely would not order again.

I am a fan of Lavazza's Gran Filtro line of ground coffees, but decided to try this one to see if it was any different (better or worse) than the Gran Filtro. For starters, you get a fair amount with the House Blend (I bought two canisters) for slightly less than the Gran Filtro. This blend is very coarse-ground, even over the Gran Filtro, but it brews just fine in my "el cheap-o" Black & Decker 5-cup drip coffee maker. I'm sure this would be great in a french press as well. It is a pretty smooth tasting coffee, although not as much as the Gran Filtro. As much as I wouldn't mind grinding my own beans, I have no time to do so, and this Lavazza is a good choice.

Great coffee for those of us who need a lower acid coffee. I have a sensitive stomach and this brew does fine with me. My sister said it was too strong and she's a Starbucks fan. Go figure. Starbucks coffee makes my stomach hurt...everybody is different. I use a refillable Keurig pod and it comes out great. I don't like an intense coffee flavor. For me, this is a lighter medium roast with a subtle caffeine kick. Just right for mornings. I think this is really good coffee. Try it.

Overall, makes a good cup! A little bitter at the end, so be sure to measure accurately. 1tbs per 8oz of water works good for me. Recommended.
