What a great reel for the price. I have caught several fish using this reel in the past month after having replacing another one I broke. The retrieve is very smooth and it works great. The size that I purchased is great for a medium to medium light rod.

I’m really satisfied with the quality of this reel. I ordered the 1000 because I try to use lighter reels as my fishing sessions can get very long. This reel’s weight is closer to some 2500s from competitors but it performs better than most reels at this price point. I initially received a defective product that had an issue with the brake. Sounded like something was stuck in the mechanism and that a deep cleaning and lubrication could fix the issue. But I preferred to return it and I received a replacement product that works as a charm. I spooled some Powerpro braid and tried it today on stock trout at a local lake. It’s exactly what I was looking for. It’s my 3rd spinning reel from Kastking and I’m really impressed with the value they can offer at these lower price points. ... show more

I am very happy with my KastKing spinning reel. I had a Shimano that had worn out and replaced it with this. I am very happy with the reel and feel that it compares favorably with more expensive brand reels. Own six of these now and my oldest two are 2.5 years old now and have seen very hard use by my sons and I. I will add though they have only been used in fresh water fishing for bass, panfish, catfish walleye, fresh water drum but have held up very well. I researched every under $50 and under $40 spinning reel I could find and this one had the most features and best reviews of any reel I could find in this price range. My sons and I are absolutely satisfied with them. I just ordered two more because they offered a 15% off coupon and I plan of spooling these reels with 20# Power Pro braid to make two dedicated night fishing set ups using top water lurers because I have a very good lake for night fishing for bass walking distance from my home and even my favorite copolymer line has to much memory and I get to many rats nests which are to difficult to spot and prevent in the dark of night fishing.
