I used this reel most of the season throwing different lighter spinners and crankbaits. The reel is still just as smooth and solid as the first day I used it. My other reels I have used are Abu Garcia Revo's which are also very nice reels but not anywhere close in the same price range. I often fish rivers and streams from my kayak and I am not a big fan of using very high end stuff from the kayak incase of any unforeseen occurrences. The higher dollar equipment stays on my big boat. With that said I did fish at least once a week from start of Spring through end of Summer from my kayak using this reel and a couple other Kast King models. Of the 3 models this one did seem to perform better for me. All 3 models were within $10 of each other. One of them was a lower gear ratio for deeper diving crankbaits. My 16 year old son has really just started taking an interest in fishing and he was able to use this caster with very little trouble also. After helping him adjust it correctly to the lure he was throwing, he was able to cast it accurately and at a good distance pretty quickly. If you are looking for a solid well performing bait caster and you don't have an unlimited budget, I would recommend checking this one out.

I bought three of these to replace some worn out BPS reels, didn’t have the 5.1:1 speed I was looking for but had a 5.4:1 which is close enough for a decent crank bait reel and I also got two of the 7.2:1 or 7.4:1 not really sure without looking. Casts well when setup is right for lure weight, drag is very good on these reels, KastKing just flat out made a really great budget friendly reel. I plan to buy more as my other reels wear out.

This reel is awesome. I can cast flukes weightless over 30 yards but no backlash. I have another for my crank baits and can have half oz cranks so far I get tired dealing it in. I have the SLX DC and the Curado K and this one on par for performance although the build quality is better in the others. As expected for something costing 6-8 times more. Cannot go wrong with this reel

I have only fished quality (expensive) reels from abu garcia, quantum, and shimano and wanted to give this one a try. It arrived yesterday after I purchased it on a Prime Day discount last week. I took about 20 minutes to spool it up with 10lb test fluorocarbon mainline and adjust the drag. Once it was dialed in at casts effortlessly and without "birdsnests". I will definitely buy another of these when the time comes. I also like the 7.2:1 retrieve. The only remaining question is how durable it will be.

Very smooth bait caster reel took no time at all to get it set to my liking. This reel impressed me and works beyond of what I expected.
