It's a spinning reel so it's a pretty simple reel and casts great. Drag seems to be heavy, I actually use this reel with braid to throw small hollow body frogs. I set the hook pretty hard and it hasn't slipped yet. Seems like its well built, solid feeling reel. For the price I don't know if you can get a better reel. I can't speak to longevity because I've only fished it a couple of months.

Bought the 5000 size and spooled it with 30lb braid. It held maybe 250 yards. The reel is small, lightweight and performed flawlessly. I used it to cast 2 and 3oz jigs for a couple hours and threw a topwater lure awhile. The reel is smooth on the retrieve. The bail locked back and closed fully with every cast. It feels good in the hand and the drag is strong and smooth. Did not catch a fish but I will update my review later.

This reel is lightweight, powerful and perfect in every way I had hoped for. I am one who always opens up a reel, sees what the gears look like and changes out the factory grease. I’m going to leave it in this reel. This is as smooth as butter. The drag ping is nice and loud. I am fairly certain I just found my new favorite reel!

The media could not be loaded. This is an outstanding spinning reel and not the first one I bought from KastKing! Right from the moment I took it out of the box, I was impressed with the feel and the quality of this product. The reel is incredibly smooth and has a very satisfying 'click' when it's wound. The reel is well-balanced, and the handle makes it easy to cast. The drag is very strong, and the reel is capable of handling large fish. The frame is made of NyliPlex and while I have no idea what it is, it feels very stiff and strong like it will last a lifetime. The handle is made of solid aluminum and has a very comfortable grip. The reel is sealed against water and saltwater, and it operates only in anti-reverse all the time, there is no switch for changing it. While some may find it inconvenient, I have no problem with it. The black anodized alloy spool is very high quality and braids the fishing line very consistently. The bail has positive action and is easy to open and close. One unique feature noted is that when the bail is in an open position, it imposes a slight friction force on the rotor to keep it from turning. So, it remains in the same orientation as when you opened it. The drag on this reel is both smooth and strong. End-to-end, this reel is an excellent performer and one that I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a high-quality smooth spinning reel. Bottom line: This KastKing MegaJaws Saltwater spinning reel impresses right out of the box with its smoothness, strong drag, and durable construction. Features like NyliPlex frame, aluminum handle, and sealed design for saltwater resistance make it a reliable choice for handling large fish. Unique features include strictly anti-reverse mode operation and a bail that maintains rotor orientation once open. Overall, it's a top performer worth recommending for anyone seeking a high-quality spinning reel. Solid 5-stars product. Pros: 1. Exceptionally smooth operation. 2.
