I am impressed with this reel for the price point. It replaced a seldom used all plastic reel on an Ugly Stik Dockrunner. I used this mainly for bait: running a small sabiki rig, so time will tell how it holds up to saltwater. I thoroughly rinse and dry all my gear immediately after use. If the materials are as well made as they seem to be it hopefully wont be an issue. If it is, there was minimal investment here. The internals seem smooth, and this wont be getting a lot of stress on them. The overall value if certainly there on this reel, and I am impressed with Kastking so far. ... show more

I purchased this 3000 size to replace a Shakespeare reel that had broke when something heavy was dropped on it. Very smooth action and to me it casts as good or better than the Shakespeare. Have another in the 5000 size on a catfish rig. I highly recommend these for the quality and price!
