I am going on a photography road trip to Yellowstone and need a charger that will simultaneously charge two Leica batteries for my Leica SL3-S. The Leica "USB-C Power Set" is $500 from B&H, which seems very expensive to me since this type of product seems entirely made in China. In the past I've purchased a number of different Wasabi Power batteries from Amazon for my Nikon and Sony cameras and they all worked fine, indistinguishable (to me) from their considerably more expensive OEM counterparts. So after a bit of searching I found this product. It was not clear from the Amazon reviews for this Karstar LTD2 charger that it would work properly with my Leica batteries, but I thought, why not give it a go? So I ordered one and it was delivered much faster than I expected from the delivery information provided at time of check out. I have two different Leica batteries -- a newer version that was supplied with my SL3-S (BP-SCL6 Battery) and a BP-SCL4 battery that came with my SL2-S (which works fine in my SL3-S; just doesn't support extended rapid bursts). To my surprise, the Karstar LTD2 charges BOTH of these batteries simultaneously and in about the same time as the Leica charger supplied with the SL3-S. Just exactly as I had hoped. There is a read-out on one side of the device that shows charge levels, a separate read-out for each battery (and not found on the Leica dual charger). The charger comes with a USB-C to USB-Micro cord that connects the charger to a USB power source. I've used the LTD2 charger plugged into both AC power and an Anker power brick and it works fine with both. The charger itself has two USB ports, one being USB-Micro and the other USB-C, so a USB-C to USB-C cord can be used as well (just not supplied). This will be handy for using the charger in a car, for example. I'm VERY pleased with this purchase. I still plan to buy another BP-SCL6 Battery so at the end of the day buying the battery and this charger instead of the Leica "USB-C Power Set" will save me $275. I'm a long time Leica and Nikon user who respects the quality of their products. But every so often they have an accessory that is way too expensive. This charger fills that gap perfectly IMO.

So far so good! I was worried about using a 3rd party manufacturer battery charger for my Leica Q2 Monochrom batteries, but Kastar's version works just fine. At the price this can't be beat. Now, this is my first time using it, but so far no complaints. Will see how it holds up over time

Took a gamble on this because of the mixed reviews. So far it charged my SCL6 and SCL4 batteries hoping it would remain reliable. I did find that the plastic clips holding the battery in place can break if some kind of force is applied to it, better be careful about it.

This item was great when I first started using it. Used it to charge the BP-SCL6 too, but I noticed over time. If I initially charged a battery using this, and then swapped over to the original Leica charger , it wouldn't charge and the charger would throw and error code. I found this out the hard way when prepping for a wedding the next day. The battery wouldn't charge on this charger, it only got to about 20%. Some troubleshooting later, nothing working I switched back to the original charger and the lights began flashing rapidly. Solution? Run the battery till it dies and then recharge on the original. I'm a bit hesitant to use this charger anymore. It leaves me in a tough spot when this happens. It's become more and more frequent so I think I'll have to bite the bullet on the original charger. We all know Leica isn't cheap, but it's better to buy the $200 dual charger and save a battery, rather than spend $400 on a replacement battery, and a charger to boot.

This seems to do it’s job well and for a reasonable price. It’s quite small and uses a USB power supply. I was concerned about using this in the car, but the batteries seem to snap in securely and lock in place. I wouldn’t run it over with a truck or hit it with a sledgehammer, and it’s not built like the OEM charger, but neither is it more than $200, lol. This replaces my previous Nitecore brand, which failed prematurely after a year of extremely light usage, but only charges a single battery at a time. I liked it well enough to re-buy it, but the current price of it in 2026 is three times more than it was a year ago. That’s insane, and definitely not worth it. If this one feels prematurely, I’ll update this review. But at the price point, there isn’t much to complain about.

I found it super cumbersome to bring the OEM charger for the Leica BP-SCL6 batteries, but this one is awesome! Charges 2 batteries at the same time, and I have to say… being able to use your own cables is an absolute game changer for me. Skip the Nitecore one and go for this one!

Left my Leica Q3 charger at hotel on an overseas trip I just got from and didn’t want to pay $200 for OEM charger, so took a risk on this. Fortunately, it’s been working well for both BP-SCL6 batteries, and price can’t be beaten.
