    • Light weight and well designed
My wife has been using this wheel chair daily for 5 months now. She finds it very comfortable and easy to use. Although one does not buy a wheel chair for its looks, this one is quite attractive in comparison to all others we have seen. As a caregiver, I greatly appreciate its light weight when I am lifting it into and out of the trunk. I have also handled the heavier ones that medical supply stores typically rent, and find the much lighter weight of the Karman unit makes a huge differnce in lessening the strain on my back and arms. The ability to fold the back makes the Karman chair more compact and therefore easier to lift and handle. Although I seldom remove the wheels, it is good to know that feature is available when trunk space is at a premium. As a mechanical engineer, I appreciate the excellent design that has gone into this product to make it light but strong and rigid. When we did have a service issue, the staff at Karman were extremely courteous and had our situation resolved very expeditiously. ... show more

I bought a Karman wheelchair. Took it out works fine. After using it for one week i noticed it says Karma on it in three different places. What a crummy thing to have on Your wheelchair. I cut the tag off and duck taped the other two spots.

    • Excellent wheel chair.
So far, this wheel chair exceeds my expectations. Since the seat is only 16 inches across, make sure that your back side does not exceed that measurement. I bought this for my 98 year old mother for use on shopping trips that will exceed 1/2 an hour. She has a small build at 114 lbs. and if she were any heavier, she would fit tightly in the chair. She has commented that the chair is very comfortable when sitting for extended periods of time, but she did also comment that with a winter coat that there wouldn't be much room left in the chair. The 18" seat may be more suitable for a normal sized adult. But for some one of smaller stature or a child, this chair is perfect. This wheelchair is exactly what my aunt was looking for and is perfect for her with fast delivery!! Very comfortable and the tires work so much better than a basic wheelchair from insurance!
