We never seem to run out of uses for landscape staples between securing landscape fabric, anchoring irrigation lines, staking down a tarp, and the like. And when I run out of them in the middle of a project and end up at a big box hardware store for replacements, I usually end up paying 50-100 percent more compared to these. I couldn’t find the gauge of these staples in the description, but if the 0.1-inch dimension is accurate, that would make them around 11 gauge. That’s a fairly common thickness, although you can get heavier ones for harder soils. About the only issue, as other reviewers have noted, is describing them as galvanized. These are zinc plated and will probably still have a decent lifespan but I was expecting them to be galvanized as advertised and they most definitely are not. They do have a lot going for them, though. Decent weight for landscape fabric needs, flat top makes them easier to install with a shoe or mallet if the ground is a bit hard, and the tips have sharp ends that do well penetrating landscape fabrics and cardboard. Great little bundle of landscape staples! Works exactly as expected. We used them to hold down landscaping fabric which is used to keep out the weeds from flowerbeds. This is a great value for the number of staples you get in the set. They work well as they all had nice sharp points and were made of a sturdy yet bendable material. ... show more

The dirt in my tard is like concrete here in AZ. I was able to drive these into the ground without issues, these were to hold the chicken wire down around my plants. They are >1/8" in diameter and at 6" long and U-shaped, they held well in the dirt. None of the staples bent while hammering in. So they are heavier duty. They're 90 of these in the package, so plenty of stakes for a bigger project. For the QTY and quality, these seem to be a good price and work well. ... show more

We've all tried the landscape staples that aren't the best and just don't last that long. Or worse, bend and break on the first attempted use. These are not those. The metal material used to make these staples is solid and durable. I had no issue with bending or breaking on any of the staples I've used so far. And they've all seemed to have held up to the elements with no sign of rust or deterioration. The length of them is another plus and where other types miss. Most brands make theirs so short and aren't going deep enough to catch hold of the ground. Considering all that, I feel they're priced fairly as well. When putting down landscape fabric or low-voltage wiring for outdoor lighting, a large, deep staple is the perfect way to keep it in place. Although difficult to see in the picture, the beveled points on the ends of these staples are cut in opposite directions, providing a nice way to get through the ground cloth and into the soil below with a single blow of the mallet. (I don't recommend a hammer because it doesn't spread the force out over both tines well enough.) Longevity is one of the key factors which is hard to figure out on a new product, but I'll try to update this review later on if I see any problems with them rusting. ... show more

    • These are good stakes!

It wasn't until I used them that I was actually impressed, because stakes are a pretty unexciting item. However, I took them out to wrangle a bunch of cardboard boxes into a weed killer level before they get covered in mulch. Due to having some smaller boxes and some bigger boxes, I had some 2-6 layers of cardboard (one box folded and laid flat= two layers) the stakes had to punch through. I used a mallet and despite a couple of what looked like close calls, none of the stakes folded, or bent. Considering it's 90 stakes for $13, I think that I would absolutely buy these at that price and be very happy. ... show more
