I LOVE these! I was worried about the reviews from people who got jars that wouldn’t close. I ordered two , and they all close. It must be luck of the draw and I got lucky. Since there are free returns, I gave them a try. They are such a great size and shape. I had intended them for inside a small pullouts drawer. But the wooden display rack is so nice, we may keep them out if we can find a place. They are not only a perfect size and shape and made of glass, but they also have the flip top so you can access your spices without unscrewing a lid first. You can also insert a teaspoon which I think is an important feature. These are what I would have designed if I was making my own. UPDATE: The lids are starting to pop up. It is the seals around the jars. I don’t want to give up on them. I am going to try and see if I can do something about them. ... show more

This is super ! It looks great and the spices smell sooooo good . It’s cute to look at and unique. I love basil and this basil smells nice and strong unlike the last 2 I bought local in the store. Putting the spices in the jars was therapeutic as they all smell wonderful. I would highly recommend this. Who could say no to 5 years of free spices that smell fresh. My husband is a chef and we were lacking a spice collection. I wanted to get something modern looking yet highly functional. After researching many very "cool" looking magnetic type screw jars, etc. I thought "well these look awesome, but how practical are they?" When you're cooking you don't want to have to take a jar down, unscrew it, possibly shake the entire contents into your stew and quickly re-screw as you stir your delectable dinner. When I found the Kamenstein 16-Cube Bamboo spice rack I though it was such a deal (because it comes with free spice refills for 5 years) and very functional. Regarding the spice refills, it is only on a few of the spices and it costs 1.99 shipping. It's easy to log onto the website they provide and enter your code to register.) Back to the rack...The cubes have handy plastic lids that have two sides which flip up, one for granulated and one to spoon. Perfect! It's also very cool because you can mount on wall, have in a drawer or it comes with a metal easel on the back to set up at an angle on countertop. We choose to mount ours on the wall. We actually stacked 2x2 creating a square of 64 spices (I've posted the photo). The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because the lids which go on over a rubber gasket type seal, don't seal completely closed. Spices like onion powder and anything powdered with a little weight comes out from the sides a little bit. Not a big deal as it's not too much, but still a little flaw. It doesn't happen with larger spices that are crushed or whole. I also used my own name label stickers, as I needed spices that didn't come with kit. One a side note, one of the four sets I ordered had a few of the glass jars chipped on the bottom (probably from shipping even though it is pretty securely packed). I looked online for replacements but couldn't find any. I contacted the manufacturer and within a few days they had sent me two replacement jars. So props to the manufacturer for great follow up! All in all we're very happy and excited to use our new spices! FYI the spices that came with my kit were: crushed mint, basil, oregano, sea salt, marjoram, celery salt, herbs de provence, pizza seasoning, bay leaves (crushed), parsley, rosemary, italian seasoning, coriander, season salt, chives & fennel seed. ... show more

I was excited to get this set because it is unique. I was extremely disappointed the first time I used a shaker. The seals are faulty and the spices pour out the sides. I contacted manufacturer as directed. To my disappointment, their response was to return the item. It’s going back! I love this spice rack, jars, and spices. Fits perfectly in the kitchen cabinet drawer in the camper. The reason for the 3 stars is the lid design. The lids allow the spices to fall through a narrow gap, so there is waste...product will not stay fresh, and there's a mess to clean off the kitchen counters. Kamenstein, I love your products. I am a pessimist. I believe in reading reviews and usually trust the negative ones before the positive ones. I must have placed and removed this Spice Rack into my cart at least 5 times before I decided to take a chance and order this one. There are so many negative reviews about jars arriving broken and the lids not fitting. I have to say ALL my jars arrived unbroken, ALL the lids fit perfectly, the bags of spices filled each jar to the top. The jars are just the right size, very attractive, neat and the added bonus of the free spices to fill the jars is definitely a plus, and then the added bonus of free spices for 5 years, WOW.
