  • Fantastic little grinder; like a pocket food processor
I got this grinder to use with some whole coffee beans. The unit came packed nicely in a box with instructions and an extended warranty card, making it decent for gift-giving. The entire unit is slightly larger than a soda can, with about half of that being the coffee bean compartment, and the remainder being the motor & AC adapter. It has a 2 prong US plug that is polarized (one side of the plug - the neutral blade - is slightly larger than the other) and a decently long cord (I’d estimate about 3-4 ft). Having used food processors and blenders in the past, I was a bit concerned about how loud this coffee grinder would be, but it was basically silent. I was able to grind a serving of coffee in about 15 seconds, going from whole bean to fine powder (although not quite espresso grind). The lid is detachable and easily washed, and the main unit was easy to wipe clean with a damp paper towel. I’m very impressed with this little unit, and now I’m thinking I may try to grind up some almonds with it to make small batches of flour. A couple of notes in the instructions that you’ll want to be aware of: don’t run the unit continuously for more than 30 seconds at a time (likely has to do with limitations of heat dissipation on the motor) and don’t submerge the base unit (I assume it is not water-tight). Overall I highly recommend this unit. ... show more

  • Works well, annoying to clean
Kaffe's coffee grinder works well. It's priced competitively with other electric grinders I've seen. The construction (on the outside, I didn't take it apart) seems quite robust. It does take a bit of fiddling to get the right grind. On the first test I used 1 oz of beans. The pics on the box showed pictures of different grinds. 10 seconds for coarse, 30 for fine. I went for 18s. That was a mistake. I thing Kaffe assumes you will always fill the grinder to capacity when you use it. With a mere 1oz, 18s was enough to grind the beans FINER THAN FLOUR! That's supposed to be a bad thing but the coffee tasted find. No Harm, No Foul If Kaffe does expect you to fill the grinder to capacity... what is the capacity? I don't know! It says 2.5 oz in the manual. 3.5 oz on the box. And they don't say what kind of oz. weight or fluid (liquid). I tried filling it until the beans reached the top of the bowl and that weighed only 1.9 oz. So they must be fluid oz. I put 2.5 oz. of water in the bowl and discovered it wasn't watertight! water leaked right through the innards and out the bottom. Whoops! To be fair, they don't say you can put water in the bowl coffee beans only! (After drying, the grinder still worked) It seems capacity is the top of the metal part of the bowl It sticks out a bit to give the cover a resting place. I tried grinding that much for 10 seconds and it appeared to be a medium grind but there were a few beans left over. 5 more seconds and it looked good (I later found a single whole bean) What I'm saying id there's a bit of trial and error before you find the right amount of beans and the right length of time for the grind you like. What I don't like about this grinder is the cleaning. Not easy. They tell you to wipe the inside with a soapy rag or sponge. The blade gets in the way. And you keep finding leftover spots with coffee. Then they tell you to rinse the bowl and blade. That's gonna be an issue since it leaks! I give it a 2-3 second blast with the squirter from the kitchen sink. I hold the grinder sideways so as not to make it easy for the water to leak in. It comes with a brush and you need that brush to get out much of the ground coffee. I don't want to give the impression it's a bad grinder. I like it, I gave it 4 stars. I would just like to be able to remove the bowl and blade to give it a good cleaning. ... show more

  • Powerful Coffee Grinder!
This little coffee grinder is perfect! It is light weight, compact, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I had the same coffee grinder for the last 10 years and it finally broke. This replaced it and I cannot be more happier. It grinds the coffee super quickly, and the longer you grind it the more fine the coffee grounds will be making it super simple to use. I also love that it comes with a little brush so you can scrape the excess coffee off of it. It works so well. The only thing that I wish they would add is a little funnel so you can funnel your coffee into a jar. I just use a rolled up piece of printer paper, and it works perfectly as a cone to get it into my glass mason jar. Once you have fresh ground coffee you'll never look back! And if you are on the fence, and you're wondering why the coffee tastes better at your local coffee shop, its because they ground is FRESH! ... show more

  • Works well but controlling grind takes practice
This is a handy little grinder/chopper I use for spices (pepper, allspice, dried herbs, etc.). It does a good job when full but with smaller amounts the grind varies quite a bit. This I've found is typical of a small chopper like this, so not the fault of the brand. Otherwise, it's very study and seems well-made. I expect it to last. ... show more

  • Mighty little grinder
This little thing will grind anything really well almost better than my magic bullet. There's definitely less volume than the big MB containers but I've ground coffee, sugar, and onion flakes in here and it's handled them all well! It also takes up less space than other grinders, but just don't expect any automation on this is completely manual, so if you're trying to get a specific grind of coffee you really have to eyeball, but once you get it how you want, it will grind pretty evenly which I appreciate. Not sure the life on this but 2 weeks or so and it's running fine. ... show more

  • Works well overall
I ordered the Kaffe one-touch electric coffee grinder with cleaning brush to replace an older coffee grinder that was starting to wear out. Shortly after ordering this grinder the old one completely stopped working and I put this Kaffe grinder to work. The grinder does a good job of grinding my coffee beans but my only complete is the total grinding capacity is on the small side. It is listed as 2.5 oz and that it can grind enough coffee per grind for up to 12 cups but I’m not sure how accurate that is based on how strong you may like your coffee. I personally use a single serve coffee maker and I can only make two cups of coffee per grind with some coffee left over but not enough for a 3rd cup. ... show more
