Bought this to do some "experiments" with ground corn. Picked up a 40 pound bag of dried sweetcorn kernels from a local farm and decided I could just grind them with a mortar and pestel. WRONG!! Dried corn kernels are like little rocks if you've never tried before. Anyway, this machine (manual crank) reminds me of the medievil devices my grandma used to have in her kitchen. Very solid construction. Easy to assemble. And, it can be attached to virtually any counter top/table as long as there is a ledge a couple inches deep. The deep hopper holds quite a bit of grain and this thing chews through it all in no time. This item should last quite awhile so I'm not sure about the need to purchase again in the future. We'll packaged and easy to store out of the way.

Our grinder arrived with the box bursting open, holes on one end and a dent in the hopper because of poor packaging. At least it was part of a larger order so nothing got lost. It is very heavy for the tiny box it comes in. This grinder is super sturdy and seems to grind well though I could not get a super fine textured flour even after adjusting the grind and regrinding twice. Cleaning after use is straightforward, but the main body is quite heavy so someone with weak hand strength would find this difficult. Plus, flour and grain pieces get stuck in the screw divets and at the base of the grinder. Very hard to get all the flour sludge out. I will start brushing off the flour before washing which should help. Does a decent job grinding and not too hard to push. Good, inexpensive hand powered grinder.

This mill is awesome. I can't believe it for the price. If this thing were made in the USA, it would be 3X the price at least. I've ground black beans and wheat berries through it so far. The picture is wheat berries (left) and the flour made from it using this grain mill (right). Will it make super fine flour like you buy at the store? No...But I think it can make it fine enough to make a coarser bread with, which is my goal here. The trick is to run whatever you're grinding through it successively to get it finer and finer each time. Time consuming? Yeah, a little. But it's fun work, and the kids love it. Also, super easy to assemble/disassemble to clean. After several time of use, no wear and tear is visible anywhere on the mill. I think this thing will last a long time as it's built very solidly (all the tough parts are cast iron, the handle is real wood, the hopper seems like it's aluminum, the bottom guard on the vice is rubber to keep from scratching any surfaces, and the only plastic piece is the little red cover). Very impressed and will probably buy another as back-up, for non-kitchen uses (like crushing up feed for young chickens).

Really wanted this item to work for me. Sadly, that is not the case . . . The item description clearly states: ✔️Capacity of adjustment. The clamp is easily adjustable to most tables and boards 1/2” to 2” thick. Comes with a protective non-slip rubber, protects your surfaces and prevents the grain grinder from slipping in heavy work If the description had clearly indicated the maximum opening of the clamp was 1.75", I never would have purchased it. It doesn't even come close to 2" as described. Well, I have a commercial wood block countertop made by Michigan Maple Block Co. that measures 96" long x48" wide x1.75" thick-- as you can see in the photo. The clamp mechanism barely opens to a couple of millimeters shy of 1.75" because the upper part of the clamp (which contacts the top surface of the cutting board) has a slight lip -- as you can see in the other photo -- and when the essential rubber protector is used to prevent damage to the countertop, it reduces the opening to significantly less than 1.75". Even if I could get the clamp over the countertop without the rubber base, it would definitely mar my countertop, which is why the rubber base cover was an important consideration compared to similar items. Additionally, the bottom of the hopper was slightly bent. I'm sure I could have easily restored its shape with a pair of pliers, so this is a minor QC issue. The clamp opening dimension is not a minor issue. Although this grinder is very highly rated, and I am sure works quite well for those with an appropriate suface on which to mount the grinder, apparenly few purchasers have a professional wood block countertop that is an industry-standard 1.75". I have no other surface in my kitchen -- all other countertops are imported granite with insufficient space underneath for a clamp -- or anywhere else in my home, so it's being returned.
