The media could not be loaded. I purchased this light around six weeks ago and I finally installed it. I had to run a new line and fixture in order to install this LED 30W Light Fixture. Installation is easy if you already have a fixture in place or if you know basic wiring. If you don't, you will need to hire an electrician. After the electrician quoted me $4555.00 to replace the three lights on the side of the church, I started looking for lights. I found these and they look very similar ( almost exactly) to the other ones that the electrician had installed on the church before I became the facilities manager. The price is great! The lights are well made, good quality and feel strong in your hands. They are very easy to install. I was able to get them up in an hour and a half. Upside: Replaced a 300w halogen area light with this 40w LED. This seems brighter than the halogen, and much smaller and sleeker. It is die cast aluminum without any flimsy parts on the outside, and appears watertight. Downside: instructions were badly written and incomplete. The body of this fixture can serve as its own outlet box, but I had to move stuff around in it just to get a 14ga wire in it. It has a photocell that is advertised as being used or not, but a homeowner may not understand how it works well enough to bypass it, and instructions don’t say. The color temp is 5000K and not adjustable so the light is harsh. You won’t want to use it for mood lighting unless you’re going for a prisoner of war camp mood. ... show more

The light seems to have decent quality. The housing is very well built. Its setup for easy installation. The main issue with the two lights I received, was that the photo cell wire were pinched/smashed in the door seal area. Both light were like that. One light did not work because one of the smashed wires lost connection inside the insulation. If you look at the pic you can see the smashed spots in the wires and you can see where the wires were sitting in the seal. Inspect your lights immediately. If the wires are smashed, return them. If you need to light up a back yard this will do it! The 40-watt version might be all you need. Ours is the 60 and covers the better part of our pond area and back yard with enough light to deter vandals who have pestered us in the past. Easy install, simple wiring, very adjustable, weather proof and bright! Very good value.
