This product is just as advertised if you take the time to read everything and it works great. I use this for my cat who stays in the shed with an outdoor enclosure attached to window. The shed isn't insulated but has cardboard on the walls with a heater running. It still gets pretty cold in there and I wanted to be sure she would be safe in the winter. I got this cat house to put in the shed and it works perfectly and she enjoys it. It heats well, if you lay your hand on it you can almost instantly feel the heat. I know with the weight of my cats entire body on that heating pad, she will definitely be feeling warm. Assembling it is super easy with Velcro and it's actually quite sturdy. You can remove the door flaps for the entre way by just detaching the Velcro which is convenient. I don't notice any air leaks in the house. As long as you properly line the Velcro pieces up evenly when assembling it, there isn't an issue with cold air entering from anywhere besides the entryway of course. There is a small portion of floor inside in front of the entre ways of the house that isn't heated but my cat doesn't seem to mind and it didn't keep her from getting on the large heating pad that was on the remainder of the house floor. This would not be a good house to put outside in your yard since it is not water proof or weather proof, it's sturdy but not sturdy enough to survive a harsh thunderstorm. But it does a great job in a garage or shed, keeping your cat warm and dry from any leaks your shed or garage may have. As long as the house is placed inside of something that already has a roof and some walls, it's perfect. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and neither could my cat, it was just what I needed.

One of my cats absolutely loves this. I’ve been thinking of getting a 2nd one because he refuses to share! I like that the heating pad is only on one side so when he gets hot he can move over to the non heated side. It holds the heat in there surprisingly well. The roof is easy to pull off so you can get in there and clean it. And the roof is soft too, my cat loves to get on top of it and sleep too. Highly recommend for indoor or outdoor cats!

I love these heated homes for the cats. I didn't give it five stars because I'm not sure if the mat is actually getting warm. The cat likes the house. I put a little catnip in to get him to initially go in. I hope it's getting warm because my garage is freezing and that's where the house is. I did put some light weight silver bubble insulation across the top of it. It is big enough for my large cat to lay down in. It is well made, easy to put together and sturdy. This is my second time buying this house the other one is a little smaller, and I still have the first one and still use it.. this house is not intended for being out in the harsh elements. It needs to be in a garage or under a porch, roof or canopy out of the snow and out of the rain.

These are amazing. K&H products in general have been fantastic. We have two indoor heating pads, an outdoor heating pad, and now this house. We have it on our porch and moderately protected from the weather. The outside (by choice) cat went in the first night and stretched out. That night, it was around 45 outside. It's currently snowing and 20 degrees. She is sound asleep, curled up in a ball in the back of it out of the wind, and doing just fine. While the house is very well made, goes together easily, and seems warm, I don't think it would be enough for sub-zero temps or directly exposed to the weather, as there is simply too much air volume inside for the cat's body temp and heating pad to heat up. The cat has a small homemade house out of a cooler filled with straw that she chooses over this one when the temps drop, but on these normal 30-degree nights, she is happy in this K&H house.

We have a smaller version on our front porch and two feral cats who are brother and sister fit in there tightly. The front and the back door are wonderful since they offer the cat and escape so the cat won't be trapped. I had a different type of feral cat house on the back porch, and it was time for that one to be replaced. So I went with this version, which is the bigger version of the one I have in my front porch. I do cover this type of feral cat house with a table. Anything to keep the snow off the top. The pad inside is wonderful in that it only turns on when the cat lays on it. (I have many other types of cat heating pads, and I've had to buy farmer timers for them that detect the temperature and turn off at a certain threshold. With the one that comes with this house, the heating element only activates when the cat is actually sitting on the pas.) That said, these are not heating pads like the ones humans use, so they're not going to feel hot to the touch. But they do work for cats. And they are very durable. I have used these houses for 4 years now. They are the ones the cats prefer over any other one that I have. And I have a lot. I have a cedar two-story feral house, which some use and some don't. I have a small igloo, the kind for dogs, and no cat has ever been in there. And I have this version and its smaller counterpart, and every single feral cat that I have tended to has been in one or the other of them. I have worried about them during the polar vortex, when the temperatures went down to 30 below because it's impossible to get feral cats to come in. They hang out in these houses on the warm beds, and life is good for them.

First and foremost delivery was extremely fast. When I received the package, it was very neat. The box had not been damaged or anything which sometimes happens during shipping. I was very, very impressed with the way everything was so neatly boxed. This has been a great buy for me. Took 5 minutes or less, right out of the box to put together, it is very sturdy. There's a door on the front, a door on the back, which I really love, so the animal doesn't feel caged in. If something does try to get it, it can flee out the backside, so that was a great idea. My cats love this house. They were all actually fighting over it to get in there, to who was going to get to stay in it, but of course, my little queen that i've had for almost twelve years was the one that won it over. I have 4 rescues and of course a dog that We rescued almost 20 years ago that now has cancer. Anyway, we love our animals and we also have another Kitty cat that has been coming up and I feed him and he has just gotten so close to us, but he is very frightened. He will not come in. I don't want him to freeze this winter and i'm telling you, if you're looking for something that's quick and easy to put together that you don't have to have tools.The velcro is extremely strong on this.It's very sturdy. It went together so fast. It has a heated bed in it, and it is so padded, and so cushiony. My little girl Melmers loves it. She got in there and she slept in it all night first night I put it together. I honestly can't say enough about this little house for kitties. I was so impressed, and since they fought over the one for the inside. My little guy that comes up everyday morning and night to eat needed a home and that's who I actually ordered it for because he is afraid to come in, so I ordered another one of these. I'm telling you, you will not be disappointed. I am more than pleased and in the future. After this other one that I just ordered again if I need them in the future, I'm hoping they will always have them because I will definitely be a repeat customer because they had great delivery service. Which that to me is great customer service and my other one that I just ordered is already going to be delivered tomorrow. And so when it said I was going to get it the next day, it was the truth, I got it. It was the most fantastic, easy little house to put together and it is sturdy. It's very sturdy, and it is weatherproof. Again, I like the 2 doors front and back and my Kitty cats love it. That's why I had to order another one for our little guy that comes up everyday the thought of him being out in the cold winter and not being able to have a heated bed to keep him warm. I just couldn't stand the thought of that. So I want to say a big Thank you to this company for making a great product that's easy to put together. I was pleasantly surprised my stray kitty friend took to this immediately. He wouldn't go into the other boxes and insulated bins I put out. It's pretty cold and when I feed him in the morning he isn't shivering anymore. I fed him in it the first day and now he is in it alot snoozing. This is NOT appropriate for someplace it would get rained or snowed onon. It's great on my covered front porch. This is right sized for a big Tom cat or 2 cats. And it feels barely warm when you push down on it, bit I am confident it is keeping him warm and not gonna burn him. Good quality, I am also not worried it will burn my house down. This one is safety certified. Beware of cheaper ones that aren't. Also, it really did only take like 3 minutes to velcro together.
