Extra-wide heated cat house was easy to assemble, although a bit time consuming. I didn't put the flap doors on right away since it's for neighborhood TAR ferals. I wanted them to get used to it first. 2 feral kitties moved in immediately. I placed the house on some patio pavers under my front steps so it has a "roof" over it and walls on 2 sides. I worried it wasn't warm enough. This Ohio winter seems to have come early. But, the kitties seem happy. So I'm happy. I plugged it in to test while assembling the house. I left the door flaps off for the first few days. Then, added one when it snowed last week. The temps are dropping, so I added the other door today. The heated mat gets warm, not hot and is very soft. 2 adult kitties moved in. I think if they allowed a 3rd kitty, 3 would fit. The house seems to be weatherproof. It's been in its location nearly a month, I just felt in it this morning, it felt warm and dry inside. I can tell the kitties like to lay on the roof of the cat house. It holds the weight of however many are laying on top of it. It's held up its shape, just see their paw prints all over it. My family enjoys being able to see the kitties through the doorways. Would purchase again and definitely recommend!

A stray mother cat showed up with 3 kittens 6 months ago, and mom has since left the kittens when they were about 2 months. They are scared, but it was getting cold for the winter, and decided to look for an option for shelter and warmth. We have tried multiple options, but this one is fantastic! It can be folded flat for storage, and easily assembles. with velcro and zippers. It is quite solid, and the cats like to climb on the roof, but it holds up really well. The cats love the house, and the heated base. The two doorways are a big hit. There are plastic flaps over the doors, but I found the cats wouldn't go through them. I cut one of them off half way up, and that did the trick - they were willing to enter if they didn't have to go through the flap. But learn from my mistake (!), the flaps are attached with velcro, so you can simply remove them if desired. The 3 kittens are almost adults, and in the cold, the 3 of them crammed into the house, but they would end up fighting because it was too small, and one of them would get chased out. So we ordered a second house, and put them side by side. They preferred to be together - probably for body heat, so we found a great solution. You can fold down one of the side walls by undoing the velcro and unzipping where the roof connects. Do that on both houses, and then we bought industrial strength velcro in a 2" width with an adhesive back at Home Depot. Measure the height of the wall, peel back the adhesive, and stick the one half in such a way that you can connect the velcro on the open side wall, and do the same on the other side. You will have to be a little creative with the two roof lines, but you can make them close pretty tightly - We just used a small bit of fabric to stuff in a couple small openings to block the cold. It really was pretty simply - and we now had two individual houses converted into a kitty duplex!! The cats love all the 'doors', though we blocked one to keep out some cold. Now all three cats can comfortably curl up together. This extended size can hold two cats - if they are really large it could be tight. If it is going to be outside in an area that gets rain and snow, you need to put some kind of covering over it. It is water resistant, but it needs to be protected. We pulled a tarp over the top of an out of the way section of our deck, tucked the houses in so they are completely covered and protected from the rain and snow. I highly recommend this product. It is very well made, and the cats definitely approve!!

This product is just as advertised if you take the time to read everything and it works great. I use this for my cat who stays in the shed with an outdoor enclosure attached to window. The shed isn't insulated but has cardboard on the walls with a heater running. It still gets pretty cold in there and I wanted to be sure she would be safe in the winter. I got this cat house to put in the shed and it works perfectly and she enjoys it. It heats well, if you lay your hand on it you can almost instantly feel the heat. I know with the weight of my cats entire body on that heating pad, she will definitely be feeling warm. Assembling it is super easy with Velcro and it's actually quite sturdy. You can remove the door flaps for the entre way by just detaching the Velcro which is convenient. I don't notice any air leaks in the house. As long as you properly line the Velcro pieces up evenly when assembling it, there isn't an issue with cold air entering from anywhere besides the entryway of course. There is a small portion of floor inside in front of the entre ways of the house that isn't heated but my cat doesn't seem to mind and it didn't keep her from getting on the large heating pad that was on the remainder of the house floor. This would not be a good house to put outside in your yard since it is not water proof or weather proof, it's sturdy but not sturdy enough to survive a harsh thunderstorm. But it does a great job in a garage or shed, keeping your cat warm and dry from any leaks your shed or garage may have. As long as the house is placed inside of something that already has a roof and some walls, it's perfect. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and neither could my cat, it was just what I needed.

Amazing! Easy set up! Literally take less than 5 minutes. I have 6 outside kitties that love these houses. They have doors on both sides on them to keep the heat in during the winter and where they can get out either way! My cats sleep in these even during the summer. I've had one for 4 years and its still holding up. Its a little faded from the sun but works perfectly fine.

This is a decent sized, heated cat house that can fit more than one cat. The heating pad itself is energy efficient, so it only comes on when the cat is sitting in there. I've had issues getting a long time stray to use outdoor shelters, until I bought this one. I got it on sale for $60, but even if I paid the full $120, I would still be satisfied! I technically only paid $1.05 because I had the rest as credit from the cigarette rewards I get. My only complaint is that the entire inside is not heated. 3/4 of it is. There's a small section that's only cushion and no heat. I'm assuming that part goes in front of the doors. I like how the plastic door flaps can come off and go back on. One of the strays even sits on top. I just wish Amazon would stop leaving their packages on top of it. Lol The picture I submitted is from my camera feed, I will have to get a better picture.

I was unsure as to how to rate this, as I'm neither happy nor unhappy with this purchase, just disappointed. This is going to be a long review. I purchased this "outdoor" "heated" cat house a few days ago from Amazon, on sale for $53.99 before tax, and it arrived quickly, in about 2 days. It was fairly easy to assembled. The walls connect to each other with velcro, and to the roof with a plastic zipper on each of the thinner sides, and velcro strips on the longer sides, that unfortunately don't seal all the edges, so it lets some cold air in through the unseal areas. Although I like the house, for its ease of assembly and being light-weight to carry, and more importantly, the cat I bought it for, a rescued stray cat, uses it, it does not appear to be insulated, and the heating floor pad barely heats at all. When I received it a couple of days ago, I immediately assembled it quickly (took about 10 minutes), and tested the heating floor pad indoors (inside my heated apartment) by placing a pillow over it for over 20 minutes (as suggested in the instructions sheet), and after that time I could barely register any warmth with my hand placed on top of the middle of the pad, but I could tell that at least it wasn't DOA, so I let the cat use it. He's been using it for 2 days now, the house is in an enclosed, but uninsulated and unheated porch that gets pretty cold, similar to a garage, but it stays at about 6 to 10 degrees higher than outside temperature. Yesterday and today has been very cold, last night it got to mid teens and current temp is mid 30's, to reach low 20's tonight. Each time I've checked the pad I felt very disappointed at how little warmth it gives off when the cat is on it, and how cool it feels when the cat is not on it. Inside the house is probably just as cold/same temperature as the rest of the porch. This winter has been mild for the most part (in NYC), but these couple of days with such low temperature has made me worried about the cat's comfort and health. I'm thinking I might be returning this house and instead getting a semi enclosed heated cup bed that I can place inside a DIY insulated cat house made using either a cardboard box or plastic storage container lined with 1" insulation board cut to fit. This house is advertised and sold as an "outdoor" heated cat house, which means it should at the very least be weather- and water-proof, but it is not, so the manufacturer is guilty of false or misleading advertisement. For a truly "outdoor" house it should be insulated and water-proof. This house is not good to use outdoors where it could get wet from rain. If left outside where it'll be exposed to rain, the inside will get wet, as the thin floor fabric will soak up water, soaking the heating floor pad, then the cat/s will refuse to use it, as some of the customers have informed. And because it's not insulated, and the heating floor pad, which only warms one (larger) side, barely registers any warmth on the center when a cat is laying on it, it does nothing to keep the house warm, or dry when it rains. So this uninsulated house is good for indoor use only, in a mildly cool or heated room, or an insulated porch or garage where the temperature is above freezing, not for use outdoors or in an uninsulated and unheated area, as the warming floor pad is inadequate to warm a cat and keep dry when it rains. The 20-watt "heating" pad is inside (sown-in) the larger part of the floor pad under a thin layer of sherpa-like fabric, but it barely "warms" only on that side and only in the middle, so that means it's on the area where the door flaps are, and where cold air will come in through the sides of the door flap. The smaller part of the floor pad is unheated and goes over the smaller side of the house. I switched the pad around so that the larger part is on the smaller, more enclosed part of the house. There's a slit opening in the middle bottom of the front and back side of the house, so that the extension cord of the heated floor pad can be inserted through, so you can switch the sides of the pad to your liking, as I did. It plugs into a 3-prong outlet and has no temperature control. It's nearly impossible to tell if it's on/working/warming or not. If you want a pad that you can actually feel warm up or one with temperature control, get a different brand with higher wattage. Pros: When on sale the price is reasonable, at $54 or less for the heated version, $52 for the unheated version. Easy to assembled, following the included instruction sheet, though can be done it without it. The house, when assembled, is not heavy, so is easy to transport. The walls and roof of the house seem to be made of durable, not difficult to clean, polyester-like material, that might be slightly water-resistant. The heating floor pad's cushion is about an inch thick and its placement can be reversed. Can provide 1 to 3 cats shelter from the wind. Cons When not on sale the price is too high (when it's over $54). The house is not insulated or weather-/water-proof. The material used on the walls, roof and floor is not water-proof or water-repellant, though the walls and roof might be water-resistant. The floor is a thin polyester-like fabric that can soak up water that comes in contact with it, so won't keep inside or the floor pad dry when it rains. The heating part of the floor pad does not cover the whole floor of the house, only the larger side, but the sides can be switched. The heating floor pad does not have a removable, washable cover. To clean, unplug and use a damp cloth. When on, the heating part of the floor pad barely registers any warmth when the cat is laying on it, and not disernable warmth when empty. Does not help keep the house warm. And a minor complain - the wall panels could look smoother, not as creased. (see photos) How it can be improved? By making all of it (roof, walls and floor) insulated and water-proof, and using a better and larger heating element for the floor pad. Then it would merit a 5 star rating. After all that said, I'm still not sure if I'm going to return it or keep it. If I keep it, I'm going to use a different heating element/pad or a heating cat bed, which will add to the cost of shelter for the rescue stray cat. Provided 2 photos of my DIY winter feral cat shelter that I made for outdoor feral cats to use.
