This product is just as advertised if you take the time to read everything and it works great. I use this for my cat who stays in the shed with an outdoor enclosure attached to window. The shed isn't insulated but has cardboard on the walls with a heater running. It still gets pretty cold in there and I wanted to be sure she would be safe in the winter. I got this cat house to put in the shed and it works perfectly and she enjoys it. It heats well, if you lay your hand on it you can almost instantly feel the heat. I know with the weight of my cats entire body on that heating pad, she will definitely be feeling warm. Assembling it is super easy with Velcro and it's actually quite sturdy. You can remove the door flaps for the entre way by just detaching the Velcro which is convenient. I don't notice any air leaks in the house. As long as you properly line the Velcro pieces up evenly when assembling it, there isn't an issue with cold air entering from anywhere besides the entryway of course. There is a small portion of floor inside in front of the entre ways of the house that isn't heated but my cat doesn't seem to mind and it didn't keep her from getting on the large heating pad that was on the remainder of the house floor. This would not be a good house to put outside in your yard since it is not water proof or weather proof, it's sturdy but not sturdy enough to survive a harsh thunderstorm. But it does a great job in a garage or shed, keeping your cat warm and dry from any leaks your shed or garage may have. As long as the house is placed inside of something that already has a roof and some walls, it's perfect. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and neither could my cat, it was just what I needed.

Nice size cat house. Seems warm, but not HOT. Seems sturdy yet easily accessible for both the cat and the human tender. The only negative feature is that I had to trim the plastic sheet doors so that they could freely move. Full context, I did not place this outside. I placed this inside of a non-heated garage for my last buddy that wasn't supposed to come inside, then I was able to bring him in. So only a few weeks of use, maybe a month. But in that time, it was very cold, and he was in there all the time. Also, K&H donates/ does tons of good for shelters and or "the community" and that is something worth supporting.

I ordered two and they were really great over the winter. I started with one for three grown cats and two would get in and one would be out in the cold. There is room for all three, but anyway. SO I ordered a second one and then they decided to all sleep in the first one. Oh yes they did! They eventually worked out how to use two and both houses have held up well. I’m leaving them up year round because their favorite place to hang out and sleep is on top of the houses. Easy to setup and constructed well. They should last years.

This is the second item like this that I have bought from my outdoor cats. It is not totally waterproof, when it rains very hard it does seem to soak through the roof and sometimes leaks a little inside. I now cover it with a small tarp. The inside is nice and cozy but the heating pad element could be a little stronger as it only seems to warm up the one side and the other side padding.

This was better than I could have expected! The quality was fantastic. The walls went up sturdily, the assembly was so simple, the colors were perfectly cute out under the carport and best of all, my cats have a warm, comfortable place to hide in the nastier weather. 10/10 recommend!

These are amazing. K&H products in general have been fantastic. We have two indoor heating pads, an outdoor heating pad, and now this house. We have it on our porch and moderately protected from the weather. The outside (by choice) cat went in the first night and stretched out. That night, it was around 45 outside. It's currently snowing and 20 degrees. She is sound asleep, curled up in a ball in the back of it out of the wind, and doing just fine. While the house is very well made, goes together easily, and seems warm, I don't think it would be enough for sub-zero temps or directly exposed to the weather, as there is simply too much air volume inside for the cat's body temp and heating pad to heat up. The cat has a small homemade house out of a cooler filled with straw that she chooses over this one when the temps drop, but on these normal 30-degree nights, she is happy in this K&H house.

First and foremost delivery was extremely fast. When I received the package, it was very neat. The box had not been damaged or anything which sometimes happens during shipping. I was very, very impressed with the way everything was so neatly boxed. This has been a great buy for me. Took 5 minutes or less, right out of the box to put together, it is very sturdy. There's a door on the front, a door on the back, which I really love, so the animal doesn't feel caged in. If something does try to get it, it can flee out the backside, so that was a great idea. My cats love this house. They were all actually fighting over it to get in there, to who was going to get to stay in it, but of course, my little queen that i've had for almost twelve years was the one that won it over. I have 4 rescues and of course a dog that We rescued almost 20 years ago that now has cancer. Anyway, we love our animals and we also have another Kitty cat that has been coming up and I feed him and he has just gotten so close to us, but he is very frightened. He will not come in. I don't want him to freeze this winter and i'm telling you, if you're looking for something that's quick and easy to put together that you don't have to have tools.The velcro is extremely strong on this.It's very sturdy. It went together so fast. It has a heated bed in it, and it is so padded, and so cushiony. My little girl Melmers loves it. She got in there and she slept in it all night first night I put it together. I honestly can't say enough about this little house for kitties. I was so impressed, and since they fought over the one for the inside. My little guy that comes up everyday morning and night to eat needed a home and that's who I actually ordered it for because he is afraid to come in, so I ordered another one of these. I'm telling you, you will not be disappointed. I am more than pleased and in the future. After this other one that I just ordered again if I need them in the future, I'm hoping they will always have them because I will definitely be a repeat customer because they had great delivery service. Which that to me is great customer service and my other one that I just ordered is already going to be delivered tomorrow. And so when it said I was going to get it the next day, it was the truth, I got it. It was the most fantastic, easy little house to put together and it is sturdy. It's very sturdy, and it is weatherproof. Again, I like the 2 doors front and back and my Kitty cats love it. That's why I had to order another one for our little guy that comes up everyday the thought of him being out in the cold winter and not being able to have a heated bed to keep him warm. I just couldn't stand the thought of that. So I want to say a big Thank you to this company for making a great product that's easy to put together. Delivery 4/5: shipped in manufacturer's box. Not bad, nothing inside is damaged. Appearance+quality 3/5: Firstly, the product itself looks much more flimsy than in the advertised picture. The color is accurate, though the material feels cheaper in person. It's a plastic-y fabric material that might be able to be washed/wiped. It is quite literally held together with velcro strips. The entire thing is 3 pieces (the base + walls that fold up, the roof which is a flat rectangle that folds into the shape pictured, and a fuzzy heated mat with a corded plug attached to it. Assembly 3/5: putting it together is quite simple for better or worse. The entire thing is held together by velcro strips which can be a bit finicky, especially when attaching the roof. The rectangle piece (roof) has velcro on the bottom that connects to the matching velcro strips at the tops of the walls once you unfold and put them up into a box (also held together by velcro). Because it is held together by velcro, it's somewhat floppy and not very sturdy. It does however, stand up and is fine for use. The roof is a little weird as it's a bit difficult to see where they connect to the walls since it's on the underside of it. The entire thing is more on the smaller size which could honestly fit at max 2 grown cats if they can tolerate each other. The plastic flaps on the entrances/exits are removable (also attached by velcro). Function 3/5: I mean, it's a decent box for them to sleep in. I'm not convinced it's that insulated for really cold or severe weather. It sits on the ground so definitely it would need some sort of shelter from rain. The heated mat using electricity/a plug concerns me since it sits on the ground and doesn't really have anywhere to store it so it'd be best to keep it elsewhere during wet weather if you plan on using it in the long run. I have not tested the heating yet as the cats I've been using it for don't really like it. I would not recommend this if you're planning on using it without any cover outside. If I'm honest, this feels more like an indoor product but that would defeat its purpose. While I don't think it's as insulating as it is advertised, it is a decent option for this price if you want something a step above just a box. Rough wind might blow it away though.
