  • Easy and clean install in Jeep Wrangler TJ
Style: Single DIN Car Stereo
Looks and sounds great and had no issues installing in my 04 Jeep Wrangler TJ. So far very pleased with the unit. It can be a little slow at startup and sometimes I have a little trouble connecting through Bluetooth, but most of the time it connects automatically and works as it should. It has alot more good going for it than bad and sounds great with my current setup. The hands free microphone works well enough. Great unit and definitely worth it for something not too expensive that checks mostly all the boxes. ... show more

  • Great Radio Unit!
Style: Double DIN Receiver
For the price, you can't beat this unit! I easily installed it in my Town Car with no prior wiring experience. (Make sure to purchase a wiring adapter matched to your vehicle model.) This radio looks great and sounds great. I love the color and equalizer presets that I can choose from. I can also pair my phone for Bluetooth audio or phone calls. It even has a party function where up to 5 phones can connect at once. It can also pair with the JVC mobile app so that you can easily adjust colors and audio settings. ... show more

  • Excellent unit, with one annoying oversight
Style: Single DIN Car Stereo
First, this is an excellent unit at this price point. Bluetooth connects within 5-10 seconds of turning the car on. It improved the sound quality of my Camry tenfold. My one complaint is… The main power/potentiometer button used for navigating menus and adjustments. It feels incredibly cheap and it tends to skip or miss contact when making adjustments ... show more

  • Works good, installs easy
Style: Single DIN Car Stereo
Sometimes Bluetooth doesn’t connect right when you hop in the car, and you have to turn it off, turn it back on to get your phone to play. Which I’ve experience on multiple different stereos, maybe just a Bluetooth problem. But other than that, sounds good, looks good, installs easy

  • Worth the cost
Style: Single DIN Car Stereo
After a disapointing purchase of a cheeper radio, I decided to spend more and bought this one. The instlation was easy, directions clear. Setting up the bluetooth to my smart phone was like magic, it was quick, and worked perfectly. Setting the date was confusing, due to the format being different than normal for me, day/month/year. Once I saw how to enter the dat and time it was easy. ... show more

  • JVC KD sr87BT review
Style: New Single Din Receiver + CD Player
I would recommend this CD player great price Great sound great options... Perfect for upgrade stereo system ready for amp and subs... I bought mine for $75 on Amazon also if you don't know JVC and Kenwood are the same I think JVC bought out Kenwood.... So if you buy either one you're going to get amazing quality like this one... If you want Great sound stay with old school names don't buy anything made by pyramid audio they own multiple brands and they all suck... And especially those Chinese off-brand names LOL ... show more

  • big sound like in the old days
Style: Single DIN Car Stereo
Stereo was easy to set up in my 1997 chevy pickup. the sound took a little time to get right, there are a lot of options. I played with all the options until It sounded the way I wanted it to sound. I was amazed at how big sharp and clear my pickup sounds now. I had an older JVC in it before with a bluetooth dongle plugged in to the back. The built in bluetooth works much quicker and it's all automatic. Just touch the bluetooth button and it connects with my phone and starts playing music. also came with a microphone to answer calls, but I'm not sure I'll use that yet. The shorter cabinet made it easy to stash my wires also. Very happy with this new stereo. ... show more

  • Questionable Features
Style: Single DIN Car Stereo
I bought the JVC KD-SX27BT because I wanted to upgrade from my 2015 model Alpine CDE-151 because it didn't have BlueTooth for handsfree phone use. The BlueTooth in this JVC works fine with my iPhone and the sound of the stereo is good too. The radio bands work as I would expect. I think the Aux In would also work fine but I haven't tried it. I set the clock when I installed the stereo and it lost the setting one time after that but I reset it and it has remained set since then. The EQ has several preset choices and there is a manual EQ setting that you can make. Other than those things, the JVC stereo is a disappointment to me. The menus for setting it up are hard to understand and navigate. For some strange reason, the button to enter the menu system is a very tiny one on the right end of the main button row, smaller than the pad of my little finger, and the opposite button to go back a level in the menus is the tiny one on the left end of main buttons. In addition, both tiny buttons are multi-function depending on what you are doing with them. The phone control button is placed below the volume knob and hard to see to quickly answer while driving. I haven't been able to get the search function to work in any meaningful way to search folders of albums on my flash drive. If I just insert a USB flash drive drive, the stereo will play each folder in succession but it's unknown to me how to jump to a specific folder using the search function. I've downloaded the operating manual and read through the section several times while at the stereo and it doesn't seem to do what is written. All I can do is use the forward and backward buttons to cycle through songs or albums in succession. Incidentally, the search button is the tiny one on the left that I mentioned before. I think I can't get it to work because it is a multifunction button that requires some action that I haven't discovered yet and wasn't written about in the manual. What bothers me the most is that there doesn't seem to be a simple way to adjust the bass, mid, treble, balance, or fade without having to go into Audio Settings menu (using those tiny buttons) and backing out of each adjustment to go to the next one. On my old Alpine, I can simply press one button labeled AUDIO and it would cycle through each of those settings, stopping just long enough on each for me to adjust it with the rotary knob, then move to the next one. In the JVC it is dangerous to try going into the menus to adjust them while driving. The display is plenty bright but the data scrolling by on the screen is not presented meaningfully like it was on my Alpine, which would show the folder and track number always on the display, and then the group, album, and song title if I pressed one button repeatedly. The JVC seems to change the order of those things, sometimes showing more or less, and it never shows the folder number. Maybe most people don't use USB music but I have a nice collection that I love to listen to when driving. I decided that my Alpine stereo is way better than this JVC and I'm putting it back in the car. I just ordered a standalone BlueTooth unit that clips on the visor and has speakers, a mic, and controls to wirelessly interface the iPhone for handsfree calling. When a call comes in, all I will need to do is pause the Alpine music manually and touch the Answer button on the BlueTooth unit. I should have thought of that solution before. There's no need to involve the car stereo for phone calls. Maybe my issues won't matter to some people but If I bought another stereo, I'd probably look at Pioneer, Sony, or Kenwood. ... show more
