I put this in a sailboat to modernize the sound system. It's nice that a friend and I can both have our phones linked to it and it automatically plays from whichever phone has music output activated. No hassle of having to reconnect all the time. I arrive at the boat, power up this radio, and after about half a minute it just starts playing from whatever's queued up on the phone. It just knows from last time, apparently. One thing to note, if you get a phone call it will interrupt the music and put the call on the stereo. You may or may not what that behavior and I didn't find a way to turn it off, so instead I went into the iPhone menus and turned off call connecting from there. ... show more

Looks and sounds great and had no issues installing in my 04 Jeep Wrangler TJ. So far very pleased with the unit. It can be a little slow at startup and sometimes I have a little trouble connecting through Bluetooth, but most of the time it connects automatically and works as it should. It has alot more good going for it than bad and sounds great with my current setup. The hands free microphone works well enough. The only thing I don't like is the feel of the volume control knob Too thin and feels cheap It sounds much better than an old Alpine I had Yes it has LOTS of menus and sub menus but I always go through all settings on pc I build or TV I get or anything that I can BT once paired has worked well For me personally I would prefer more brightness but I have some vision issues I did notice the date/time issue too I'll set it and see if it holds this time ... show more

Style: Double DIN Receiver
Installed the double din version into my 2002 saturn sl1, fits like a glove. The only difficult things were the wiring harness and putting the dash back together afterwards. The wiring harness I bought came with three seperate red wires, and only one of them actually supplies power. Got the multimeter out, measured which one gave power, and ended up re-doing that one splice as I had guessed (wrong) which one actually gave power. Speaking of splices, unless your wiring harness comes with splices you'll have to run to the hardware store for some butt splices or heat shrink wraps or something to splice the wires together. I used the blue butt splices and crimped them down and that worked really well. The stereo itself is very good, clear sound and relatively easy to use once you get the hang of it. Sounds like a $250 stereo for way cheaper. Buttons are plenty big to use while driving and it looks very modern and classy without the massive distracting touch screen. My only wish is that the microphone for calling was placed somewhere in the head unit instead of being external and needing to be seperately installed. I just threw out the microphone and use my phone for calls, its much easier. ... show more

It's as though I told JVC what I wanted in a car stereo and they made it for me. Impressive power, clean sound. Only one rca precut, but it can be switched from subwoofer to full spectrum . There are several adjustments available to shape the sound coloration to my liking. The shallow depth of the unit allows it to fit the opening much better than the precious stereo that I had. Good price, slick and well made. Had to return due to the rain hook up. Would of kept it just didn’t feel like clipping and crimping away from my older JVC stereo
