This is the perfect radio for an older single DIN application. I have installed it in a 80's gbody with 3.5" front and 4 x10 rear speakers and it has awsome sound without external AMP's or Sub's. Is it going to thump houses going down the street? NO, but if you want a headunit that sounds great and a great value, this is it. Installed in a '94 Camry because I wanted Bluetooth connectivity but felt a touchscreen would look out of place in an older car and didn't need all of the Carplay etc functionality. I just connect my Pixel smartphone via BT and do everything on my phone, and it works great! High quality unit, all of the controls and button placement is very intuitive and natural, everything just works! Installation was easy. I have NOT experienced some of the Bluetooth connectivity issues others have mentioned - my phone connects very quickly and stays connected. As I have owned nothing but Alpine since 1984 this was a interesting purchase. If you like setting the bass and treble for nearly every song, you are going to hate this receiver... But here is the good. The volume is like a modern car stereo so you don't blow speakers easily, it doesn't have a filter like some, but limits it to a tolerable distortion level at max volume. Its sound quality is poor at low volume, like when talking to someone, but from 1/4 to 3/4 it absolutely has outstanding clarity and quality for when you are driving. It gets a little fluttery when pushing it hard, but definitely does a decent job. Yes a Alpine will beat it for sound quality at max volume, but do you listen to everything at max? Its loud, clean, and with a handful of bass frequencies and treble adjustments it sounds just as good as any Alpine. It just doesn't at low and max volume. I would buy again for the price, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent quality head unit at a cheap price. ... show more

Only thing that aggravates me is you have to turn off the auto connect for blue tooth every time it powers on or every time you get a call you have to manually take the call back to an ear piece from the radio. I, 59 yr old female installed this in a 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ Unlimited myself and am very proud of that!! Everything works great except the clock, it keeps changing times but then will right itself. To those complaining about the dimness of the display screen, if you go to settings you can adjust brightness. Also, if you're someone who drives with their running lights on during the day, it will also be dim. I did notice that on occaision, the blue outline light will pulse to the beat of the song playing, but not all the time. It has everything I wanted. ... show more
